Have two matched Blade 100 V8's. Fantastic racket. My specs : 335g strung with over grip and weight at 3 and 9. Swing weight 334g giving it more plow through. Serve is huge and the most solid 100 I've hit in years. Zero arm issues

i tested also , but i feel some vibrations at some points .

You nailed this review. Played with the 98 for a year saw this for cheaper to get a second racket and turned into my main racket. Does what the 98 does but easier to use slightly more power slightly more spin and easier to defend with and use. Also want to mention it’s slightly softer I don’t know if they state that on the specs but it has more flex when you play with it making it more comfortable.

Excellent review ! I play on a blade 100 (that I now customize) and think the same on all points. 😊👍
@charlesfaure118910 ай бұрын
A fine racket. I do find, however, a more significant difference between the 100 and the 98 that I think has been missed. It is indeed possible to get much more topspin with the 100. If you swing it like a 98 it will act pretty much like a 98, a bit easier to use and with a bit more power. But unlike the 98, I find that with an adjustment in strike angle and a loose wrist you can get rpms that are not possible with a 98. You can get enough spin to bring balls down into the court that will fly a good distance long with the 98. With a lower drop and a loose wrist, the 100 can generate wicked spin.

I play with the v7 of this racquet. It felt like it had just slightly more plow through than the v8 version. Either way, agreed with almost everything you had to say in the review except maneuverability. I felt it wasn't slow moving but with a 1hbh craved more. The 98 felt more maneuverable but at the cost of the properties you mentioned. Great frame this and great review!
@berlianagusta56756 ай бұрын
the V8 is much much more maneuverable, give it a try.

After being away from tennis for a couple years due to knee issues and life in general, Coming from Wilson Staff racquets/rackets, I recently purchased a Blade 104 per the recommendation of the shop. I have now played for a few months (no physical issues) but don't entirely feel comfortable with the racquet/racket. I have plenty of power and generate top spin technique, but find a certain lack of control precision. I have lost skill during my tennis hiatus and would consider myself to humbly be a level 3 player buy quickly recovering. 😅 The Blade 100 pricing is currently very attractive. I am wondering if this would make a nice improvement control over the Blade 104? As I get older, I also realize my days of the ProStaff are long gone. Thoughts? Mike

Hello ! I am curious to hear more from your tenniselbow and how to avoid that and Also how to recover . I also wondering what your racket of choice is now ? Thanks.

Great review, but can you still hit a loopy top spin shot with this frame from the back of the court, when rallying or if you're pushed far back in the court ? I currently play with a pure drive

Good review. I'm a 5.0 player and use a highly modified Blade 98'. The 100 always seemed an interesting option for someone considering the 98 but wanted a bit more easy power/spin without moving up to the much larger 104. But now Wilson is already about to issue the V9 Blades so........

Hi, very nice review! recently i bought a Wilson Blade 100L v7, and i like very much this racket! can you suggest a possible custom/add of weight, to make my 100L Blade similar to this Blade 100 reviewed by you? maybe i can add a leather grip, and 1+1 grams at 3-9 hours positions? in this way i can obtain 300 grams, more stable, and nice balance, right? thanks

One comparable I would mention would be the new pro staff X - maybe Wilson isn’t promoting it much since they’re trying to use the X to capture that demographic? I’ve played with both, and to me they’re not that different - the X gives more feel and slightly more maneuverability, the blade 100 maybe slightly more power from the baseline.

Interesting thank you. Pro staff x I hope to review soon

Curious how this might compare to something like the TFight 300 RS and TF40. Both foam filled rackets that feel solid but very comfortable. Both have a a lot more directional control than something like Ezone 100 which I also have and better on volleys IMO.
@berlianagusta56756 ай бұрын
This plays like tighter string patterned Speed MP or Dunlop CX400. Torsional stability & maneuverability is stellar in this racket, meaning very very beginner friendly (for those who doesnt want to play with ezone, drive, or aero)

Can you recommend a couple 18x20 racquets that have better than average spin potential (for 18x20's)? Thanks!!
@tenniseuphoria50129 ай бұрын
Hi, if spin is your main concern then you may want to look at other string patterns, but two 18x20 patterns than can still offer good spin can be found in the Wilson Shift Pro and the Head Gravity Pro and Tour. Hope that helps

How does it compare to the BLADE 104 v8 ? I bought one of those after watching a very enthousiastic review on KZfaq a couple of years ago and it WAS spot on specs at 290 grams, but it plays like shit even after some weightig up AND using my favourite poly (Ultra Cable) AND my favourite multi (Velocity MLT). What do you think?

Andy… Have you hit with the V9 Blade 100?I wonder how it compares with the V8 version? TW still has the V8 available; however, I wonder if the V9 is worth the wait? Best, John

Hi John, not yet, I am hitting and finishing a review of the v 9 98, 16x19 blade at the moment . There is a change in that one in the lay up for sure so if that is the case with the v 9 100 too they will be different for sure 👍

Awesome review! Would you recommend it for someone who is used to Yonex Ezone (2022)/Vcore 100 (2023)? I believe you are correct calling it a hidden gem, as Wilson released it without really promoting it much. Got good remarks from Tennisnerd and his friend Henrik Wallensten too. Decent price on it at TWEU right now, All Things Tennis doesn't seem to have it. Found one barely used as well, considering to bid 100 euro for it. But I got 3x Ezone 100 (2 Osaka Edition), 1 Vcore 100, 3x Tecnifibre Tempo298 IGA and a Pro Staff 97 v13 (not the RF edition). So not sure my better half would appriciate one more stick being added to the collection 😅
@berlianagusta56756 ай бұрын
nothing like ezone or vcore, it's not that powerful. Control, maneuverability, & spin are main forte. Power is just there to get by. Pro staff is similar but the feel is different (stiffer on pro staff, softer on blade). I choose the racket as a beginner to learn how to swing fully (hence I avoid ezone or vcore 100), It's a good racket to prep myself towards modern player rackets (like so many all great 98s). But I guess if you want to play baseliner, stay with vcore 100, or even ez100 (I have one also)

How would you compare the Blade 100 to your customized Speed MP?
@tenniseuphoria501210 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for the comment. They have similarities, biggest difference is feel and that would come down to personal preference. The speed gives more spin, the blade 100 more plough through on aggressive attacking strokes and more on flat serves. A bit more stability at net from the blade too. Hope that helps
@ls2198910 ай бұрын
@@tenniseuphoria5012Thank you Andy! With my Speed MP Auxetic (4g lead @ 3+9 and 5g in butt cap) I feel that the stability and also the control is not enough from time to time, a bit launchy... Does the Blade 100 have better control?
@Le-Chuck10 ай бұрын
@@ls21989 I had the speed mp auxetic and have the blade 100. Even if the speed has a little more spin, the blade 100 feels more solid and is a bit more consistant in match conditions. Note : I play/played them stock and customized.

Prince with no doubt, easiest on the arm, same control on flat shots, more spin and really more comfortable. The 290 tour 100 ats is a hidden gem, can play 5.5 with no customisation!

Hi, thanks for the comment. None is the answer. A brilliant frame but it gave me tennis elbow (not that it is an uncomfortable frame, just that it is a frame that will cause me tennis elbow, more on that to follow one day when I have time.). @tenniseuphoria5012 very similar to me. Same style of game as me except for 1hb. Coming from head pro tour found the vcore 95 2021 to give me elbow and shoulder issues. Strung now at 46 with Tb soft and alu power and feels ok. Alot of pre/post stretching. Still searching for the holy grail. Like the 100"s but fear lack on control and precision.

The Blade (I've tried many of them) is my least favourite racquet that I've ever had the misfortune to hit with. They feel completely lifeless and cause me arm pain. I absolutely detest these racquets and can't understand the love for them.
