"In every way, its the same as a regular ball" counterargument: wind resistance. A regular basketball would slide through the air like normal, but this ball with holes covering its surface would catch air much more when it's thrown. May not make a difference for dunking but for longer shots or passes, it could be different. Also, a player could grip onto it by sticking their fingertips into the holes, which could affect play a lot. Always nice to see new designs though

I mean it probably looks cool as black. But for any televised sport that involves a ball. The ball must be a light colour. If it becomes a game ball it’ll probably be coloured to either team colours or to orange to pay homage to the colour it’s been for a long time. I think it would be cool to have different coloured basketball balls for teams or whatever. But it’s definitely not gonna stay black since the crowds in some places are super dark like the LA lakers/clippers stadium.

I wanna hear what the players have to say cause this could be a great product for commercial use but I remember the last time they tried to change the ball all the players fucking hated that shit. Grip was all ass and it would hurt players shooting fingers somehow. If people with the ball a lot, (steph, luka, Kd, etc), like it then I think it’s a great addition, though for tv they might wanna use orange material to keep the visibility.
