And in the end, Dr.Wily's creation Zero, is the one who fought as a Maverick hunter, when he himself is the one who brought about the creation of the Mavericks with the Zero Virus, which later became the Sigma Virus..WHICH ALL originated from the mysterious Dark Energy that Duo was trying to rid from Earth when it landed...The Dark Energy is what Powered Zero when he was created, and is the reason why he is so strong.

@TheOmegaDragon yep. as Sigma put it in x2, Zero was "last of the doctor's creations." what an epic robot master.

@SolidThugKnuckles There are some theories that Isoc from X6 is actually Wily, because of the physical appearance and also some mysterious lines Isoc has, amazed by how "strong Zero has become" and how "they will meet eventually". However, none of this has been confirmed.

Many people think Zero killed original Megaman, but well, no one said that, only thing that is certain is: Wily built Zero, Zero was a Maverick, then Sigma, as a hunter, fought Zero, Sigma sorta won, brought Zero back and somehow Zero became a hunter too. Then Sigma changed sides, and the X series starts :P

@KoD83 Actually, Zero was meant to be a shell for Wily, he planned on turning himself into a virus and implanting himself in Zero, thus granting him eternal life. Then it drove him crazy, and Zero almost killed Sigma. But Sigma cracked the crystal on his skull, thus transferring the virus to Sigma.

It's impressive how both themes sounds perfect together.

EPIC LIKE DAMN THATS SOOOO EPIC

@KoD83 Zero was made by Wily with the Maverick/Irregular Virus. When he was released, well after X of course, a squad of Maverick Hunter(Then only retiring those with glitches in programming) found him, and were slaughter. Sigma appeared on the scene and fought Zero, getting the scars on his face, and losing an arm in the process. Sigma smashed Zero's head crystal, thus transfering the virus from Zero to Sigma. This was a cutscene in X4 I believe.

What's cool is both of these themes are from the second game of each series.

The funny thing though is that Dr. Wily's creation, as usual, is constantly destroyed throughout the series, while Dr. Light's creation continually got stronger as the series progressed.

Both combined are purely epic.

It's things like linking Wily and Zero together with music that make Mega Man a really good franchise.

If a real Megaman Ten comes out. This is the final battle, Wily trying to control his war machine.

Dr. Wily's Castle Stage 1-2 theme (from Megaman 2) and Zero's theme (from Megaman X2) remix together.

Megaman X9 Zero meets his maker...for real. Wily actually made a robot that was significant for a change and devoted all his resources and the latest technology to him, making Zero his ultimate weapon.

I used this for personal use for MegaMan X5 for PC. I changed the default X vs Zero theme music to this song, makes the battle more epic.

What happened was Zero was created by Wily, but never released. We don't know what happened to Megaman exactly, but knew that Light was working on X after Megaman's death. True, Zero started out as a maverick, but was defeated after waking up by Sigma, and he was no longer a maverick once they brought him back to HQ. Unknowingly, Sigma released the virus, which was sealed in zero. This led to the sigma virus later on at X-5. Zero's been friends with X ever since they've been hunters.

As everyone has stated, Zero was created by Wily. In Rockman II: The Power Fighters, when you beat the game as Forte, it shows that Wily is creating a new robot. "Far superior than Rockman or Forte." The silhouette is of Zero, showing him in the creation phase.

I think the Virus itself has some data from Dr. Wily in it. Sigma references "someone else who hates you [X]" in X5, in the present tense. And it kind of explains where Axl came from. Awesome, unique technology is usually Dr. Wily's work. And Lumine, who's like Axl, did try to take over the world.

@OYuanO Yes, there is several issues with the Series, thanks to MMHX. They recont a bunch of stuff, and it doesn't make much sense, though in the X4 version, Zero makes the scars. That version is canon, based on the fact that it came first, and that the Maverick Hunter X series has been destroyed. Inafune wanted to make up the MHX6 so that the Maverick Hunter series would directly tie into Zero, like he originally planned it to.
