I was 10 years old and got a new Model 37 with .410 3" for my birthday in 1962. Grandparents bought it at a local gun store now long gone. Grandparents passed away too but I still have this shotgun. I have enjoyed this gun and the memories of my grandparents gift. It will be passed on to my family when I'm gone. Thanks for the video.

As a kid, the first time I went Duck Hunting my dad picked up a 12ga single shot gun for me. Loved that old gun. Some 50 plus years later I picked up a single shot 20ga for my Grandson to start hunting with. something remain the same. Always start a kid off with a single gage shot gun and he or she will have a ball. 410 Shotty

Yes Sir I had a lot of fun shooting that old Winchester single shot 22 a couple of weeks ago at water balloons nice old accurate gun. Thanks for Watchin' Veran.

I think you did a great job on the .410. It took years, on my part, of owning, shooting and hunting with all manner of makes, models, calibers and gauges of rifles and shotguns before I came back around to thinking maybe, just maybe, the most versatile and, for me at least, enjoyable, not to mention challenging fixed ammo shotgun I ever owned was my first "all purpose" shotgun, a full choke, single barrel, 12gauge my Dad purchased from Sears way back when and gave me for Christmas. I'm currently looking at a couple of older, but still tight, single and double barrel shotguns to fill a major gap in my little collection of usable, but older, long guns, and it just so happens that one of those "old" shotguns is a Stevens single barrel .410 that could use just a bit of love to make it just right for use as a rabbit and squirrel gun again. Now, if I could just track down a Savage-Stevens "over and under" in .223/20gauge......Keep up the great work! .410 shotee

Very few things in life more pure than a single shot shotgun. Especially a 410. My favorite shotgun for squirrel. Good job Mr. Holster! I'm glad you fixed it up. 410 shotty

Looks good Mr.Holster...I remember a .410 my great grandfather gave me as a young kid, I loved that gun and some low life son of a (blank) broke into mom and dads and stole it, along with moms dishes and pots and cookware, and dads tool box...Never was recovered....410 shooty...

I just inherited one from my grandfather. I had a choice of the 16 or 20 gauge as well but I went with the .410.

Looks like Winchester logo is engraved on the bottom of the receiver. The gun is old enough, it should qualify as a "Red Letter" gun. That means red paint should fill the Winchester logo at the bottom of the receiver (I've heard red fingernail polish works pretty good). Would make for a nice finishing touch....and I think you did just fine matching the up the finish on the new stock, compared to the old one. Thanks for sharing your gun with us. She's a beaut. =) .410 shotty.

Great old shotgun, but that particular specimen is not a 1941 version. From 1936-48 the 37s had the Winchester logo engraved under the receiver and a blunt forearm that resembled a hot dog bun. These models are called "red letter" guns and command a higher price although they really are no better than the 48-63 guns.

410 is a great round for a versatile multi use shotgun. Nice 410 shotgun in a pump could be used for several jobs from rabbit's to home defense.

It is hard to believe they had the part.. I imagine it is more, because the foregrip is less likely to need replaced as opposed to the stock

I am sure your right I never thought about that. Now I have to fix the other two guns Stan had that are missing some major parts. It would be cheaper to buy the whole gun so I may end up doing that.
