(FOR THOSE WHO DONT KNOW THIS LEGEND OR KEEP SAYING SAM&DEAN WINCHESTER JOKES) Sarah Winchester is part of the family that built and designed the Winchester rifle. This gun became a famous gun in the 1800s-1900s and took many lives with it. Those who have died from the Winchester rifle came to haunt Sarah for making the rifle that took their lives. In order to rid of the spirits, she ordered for the mansion to have infinite doorways and stairs leading to nowhere, trapping the spirits in a maze like structure.

I’ve lived by the Winchester house almost my whole life and finally got to go on a tour to see the inside, it is absolutely insane

I can't stress enough how much I love the aesthetics of this movie. Everything looks so stunning.

I came for feedback from those who've actually seen the movie. Instead, I get a thousand people who say the exact same thing - a joke about a show I've never seen. I've never been more disappointed.

As someone who grew up in San Jose, I am hella stoked to see this! I know it is very, very, distantly based on true events, but I'm looking forward to the cinematic exploration of Llanda Villa.

I thought I was going to be smart by putting a supernatural comment and then I saw the entire comment section was Supernatural fans. GG

It has potential to be a good movie, but somebody really needs to call Sam and Dean in on this one. These people look like they got in way over their head

This movie is the greatest farce that I ever have seen. My grandparents were the live-in caretakers and managers of the house for 36 yrs. I spent my summer vacations there from a very small child. Granted, it says that this was based loosely upon facts. Her new owners neice was named Mrs Brown and hired my grandfather. My family lived there when Mrs. Brown was selling off the furniture in the house. There were no doors nailed shut to keep spirits in. This was not even filmed in the house, rather used for short moments over a four day period there. They could not make the full movie there bc the rooms were far to small to accomidate actors and a film crew, so most filming took place in Australia. The bell ringing was the Houses bell. But everything else was pure rubbish. Sarah was trapped in one of her 13 bedrooms for several days before her servants finally found her after the 1906 earthquake. Even the grounds were filmed elsewhere. If you like horror films, this is ok, but do not expect any historical accuracy in it. I do not recomend this film at all. I'm actually surprised that Ms Mirren accepted this role, she has been a noteworthy star in many academy worthy films, and this does her no service at all. After 36yrs, ( which would make us living there, 2yrs longer than Sarah herself bc after the 1906 earthquake she lived with a few servants, for two years, on a river barge while the house was cleaned up and repaired), I was the last member of my family to be of service to the house as a tour guide. I left shortly before the refurbishment of the house before our nations 200 year anniversary and the house recognized as a California historical site. My family were also the only family in the entire world to live there that long. This film was a sham of Sarah's time there. To prove my claim, do a search in you tube of Lilian Gish and Winchester house, together. At the very end of this black and white documentary, you will see the name John Marx, my grandfather being thanked for his help in the making of the documentary.

Amazing performances by the cast, it has its few scary well placed moments in between a psychological horror story. That kid, damn his possession was the scariest part of the story. Well done atmospheric setting for the story, it reminded me of the Lady In Black as well.

I remember taking the tour at the winchester house and there was stairways that lead to a wall in the ceiling. Really freaky stuff like that. She was insane.

I grew up 15 minutes from the WMH. Been there with my kids in 2005. My brother is buried in a cemetery 5 minutes from the house. How nice to see a movie about it....

I just saw this today, it starts slow and boring, very hard to believe any of it really happened. I've been there, it's a neat and quirky house. Kept me entertained for 90 min at least

i️ came knowing what the comments would be... not disappointed.

When i went onto the real house, it was amazing, we were in there for about an hour and we only went through 2/3s of all of the rooms, it was a tour and the tour was amazing

10/10. SO DOPE. I've seen most of top horror films, only this one has left me without any septicism, plus it features the style of 1920s (like in Bioshock Infinite, which is uncommon). I, for sure, would watch it again

My grandmother's ex husband (who passed away recently) was a Winchester. And related to Sarah Winchester. My Grandmother tells me this story all the time. Her ex husband would always tell her about it too. We plan on going to see this once it's released.

I loved studying the story of the Winchester home, so its very exciting seeing a movie be made currently! It definitely has the opportunity to be something great but i'll try not to keep my hopes too high haha Also if I see one more sam and dean joke I will scream

they did an amazing job @ telling this story & sharing it on screen. I know to many times a true story such as this one, is cheezy & almost silly. I thought this one was believable & I DO believe in this. So I was happy to watch it & share my thoughts. 2 thumbs UP !!

In real life she would have been haunted by all the pissed off gun owners because of Winchester's dirty ammunition. This would be cool if it turned out the construction company was gas lighting her so she keeps up with the construction, but blaming the manufacturer for the misuse of their product would mean the owners of every lawn care, cookware, car, and alcohol company would have tons of people haunting them too.
