@@gregharrison7631 if you ever have the opportunity to shoot the 1873 Winchester in.22 that has a good bore like the one I had in has no comparison with the marlin as you would see smooth and accurate. The only drawback is it’s a much heavier weapon and mine was in .22 short

@@tomgrossi4431 don't know that I've ever seen one. As a kid there were a lot guns that I remember that we didn't really realize how good those older guns really were. Back then 50 dollars would sport you one hell of a squirrel rifle. I still have an old marlin Glenfield that I bought from a pawn shop when I was about 16-17 years old for 25 dollars lol. No telling how many squirrels and rabbits that I took with that little gun. Now its just hard to find the quality especially in little rimfire rifles today without paying an arm and a leg for a plinkster its sad. Whats really sad is we probably never will. So I would say if you have one of the older 50 60 year old rifels you better hang on to them.

The casting is then either painted to match the color of the rest of the gun or it is covered with BRASS-PLATTED SHEETMETAL. This Ranger is Fully billet aluminum upper and lower,hard anodized, walnut and machined steal internal parts. It has a single screw takedown. 3-5 lbs trigger with user adjustable over travel screw. Don’t get me wrong I love my Henry’s but Turkish made or not this Winchester is a quality made rifle. These Rifles are nothing alike.

I have a 39 and I keep asking ruger for a carbine version. I'm holding out for the 39 carbine in straight stock. I think ruger will bring out a .22. I just hope its short barrel. I would be interested in this Winchester, but I don't buy aluminum.

I think the aluminum is nice to save on weight for a varmint gun and carrying it around, though i agree steel looks nicer

Tons of aftermarket lightweight Ruger 10/22 receivers are made in aluminum. It can handle .22, just might not age as well after long term abuse as steel, but the difference is negligible for most.

@@a.c.2499 the only problem I had was with a Browning bar which was supposed to be aircraft grade aluminum receiver and it was in the 30-06 carbine and it had inserts for the scope mount screws and the recoil was loosening them and they were pulling out of the receiver so I'd definitely think twice about the aluminum receiver but on a 22 rinfire I think they'd be fine even on the model 95 as they were a top eject like the 94 I believe without dragging one out I personally like the lever action rifles myself I own many Browning, marlin and Winchester the Browning's are all newer and model 81 blrs my Marlins and Winchesters are all older guns
