The song was originally created by Simon Lane, one of the founders of the youtube group The Yogscast. it was born from a moment during a Minecraft video where his dwarf needed to dig a hole, so he made up a little song to sing while he was doing it. Ended up being such a popular moment that the Yogscast eventually expanded it into a complete song, which Wind Rose then covered.

Thats pretty much the song every dad sings in his head when at the beach with the family. Just take a look at the beach..you will see some dads diggin a hole for no particular reason..and you can see them sing in their head "I am a Dad and im diggin a hole..giggy diggy hole.." ....wonder if there is any metaphorical meaning behind this behaviour...
