The way we did it back in the previous century was that we'd fold the supporting arm, and not just drop from the arm to the back. We also used to use our heads so that the windmills would be more fluid than just using our shoulders. We basically used momentum rather than just pushing with the support arm for every windmill. Momentum, head, windmills were considered superior to no head with pushoffs every windmill
