I would love to know what you think. Should I keep the crimson panels or take them down?
Thank you for being interested in my humble home decorating escapades. I'm having so much
fun taking this old house back to the days of my great grandparents. It's fun having you join me!

Agree 👍🏻 also not sure about a wallpaper border in this room with such low ceilings, perhaps it would take away from the wonderful furnishings already in place, too busy with the added border.

Dear Scott, I started to cry at the overview of the two rooms at the end. Overcome in remembrance of my grandma's home. You've brought cohesion to the two rooms through the curtains, but also the placement of the furniture and accessories. It's just a wonderful sight. The touches of green, the rug just beautiful. Don't change a thing. Jersey Ann from NJ 🥲

Love it Scott! I would use the four red panels during the winter time because they add such a rich warmth to the room, but then take them down for the summer to give the room a lighter more airy look. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with all of us! By the way, we spent most of the day today hanging wooden blinds in our dining room bay window! 😀

I thought I was going to be in Team Valance Only, but I’m surprised to find that I like the panels, too.! They add formality to the space. I like one of the suggestions I saw earlier in these comments: hang the panels in the fall/winter for a cozier, more formal look and have the valance only during spring/summer for a lighter, airier look.

If a border is what you want, then do it!!! Late Victorian bordered rooms are gorgeous! It’s not like you’re putting up sunflowers and ducks with blue bows. Yes it’s tough to remove, but no one needs to worry about that for a long, long time!

I'm all for whatever "Yo' Boy" wants. The valance could be for everyday, and the addition of the panels for your special occasions. If Uncle Henry spills his cranberry sauce on them, no one will be the wiser. I'm amazed that the panels are so vibrant. How fortunate that they have not faded over the years. They look just beautiful! I've been looking forward to the day you are able to add the border around the room. The motif of the border is simple, yet elegant. You must have found another set to complete the room. Happiness to you on the anniversary of your first year in your lovely home.

Dear Scott; I have been washing and Windexing my windows today for new blinds . There is something about doing this job that always goes sideways . Im working on a alcohol egg nog right now 😋 I bought a Dorothy Draper book at a yard sale in 1980 for 50 cents and learned more than any book ever written to decorate. The same book is rare and 100 dollars now. Believe it or not , you can remove the pleats in the drapes , press them and use the opposite hem to run a curtain rod thru . ❤
