Tip: When installing windows, set the country as "English (World)" and installing windows with that country will instantly remove bloatware. (except for Microsoft apps) Although this makes some apps not detect the country, you can change back the country to yours and the bloatware will still be gone.

@@MrFat. i believe he knew that from thiojoe tweet, and chris titus win util is basically all you need to debloat windows, i got me to 70-78 processes on win 11. what i like is that his tool is open source so we can read what the script do. also recommending "o&o shutup" and editing hosts files to block microsoft telemetry (from "The PC security channel"). debloating wont gave much performance on modern hardware but at least i know my harware is chilling and not working for microsoft, lol

The amount of effort and resources put into this by the community should tell Microsoft something about their OS and future OS versions.

They don't care regardless. They will just continue doing the Apple thing and breaking these types of tools every so often so that they have to be made all over again. No big company cares about its users. That's why we need to support Linux developers more and start flushing the toxicity from that community. FOSS software is the best future but we keep ignoring it for mainstream crap because its convenient and we are lazy. Let's just be honest. Same goes for phones too. Linux mobile exists but no one supports it so it can't properly compete against Google/Apple. I ain't much help, but I still buy Linux phones and try to support devs where I can in hopes that one day I can go totally FOSS.

@@TDAdvocate the issue for me with Linux is very simple, for starters i need to relearn an entire OS system (then also all their sub version because yay for everyone making their own) so i need to check which meets my needs. then i use my PC mainly for gaming, this means that a lot of my games can't be played on my machine anymore due to Linux not being compatible, granted i could get a VM to get around this issue, but then i'm basically doing more effort than running this debloater if i really cared. if Linux gets the same compatibility and user friendlyness as Windows generally has, then i'll concider switching, but I highly doubt it.
@TDAdvocate
@TDAdvocate 9 ай бұрын
@DarkDyllon Most OS are close enough nowadays that it really only takes a couple of days to figure out the minor differences. Especially if you just Google for a minute to find one of the top 3 Linux variations. Desktop OS are all basically the same, unlike mobile OS, which are very different from one another. Gaming is much less of a problem nowadays thanks to Valve working so hard to get Steam Deck compatibility for everything. Obviously it isn't perfect, but it's better than even macOS compatibility nowadays. But I won't deny that it can still be a pain. Honestly, Linux is often times way easier to use than Windows or macOS. But other times it can be more complex. But not enough that a 30-second Google search can't fix. Hell, a 60-second bing search could still get you the right answer. At least for the major 3 variants of Linux anyway. I think the real issue is mostly just people are afraid of stepping outside the normal confines of computing. Or they are ignorant of what modern computing is like. I'm not saying you should just blindly jump ship, seeing as how not even I daily drive it. But maybe consider throwing it on an old laptop or a vm and seeing what it is like nowadays. People make Linux out to be much scarier or crappy than it really is.

My current install dos NOT have internet access, and thus remains as I debloated it. Windows tries to add in the junk every bloody day without success, which is almost funny. @Crispe1Official

That's exactly the risk you're taking. These third party scripts are NOT made by Windows developers so they don't know the true ramifications of what disabling some of these services will do. It's all well and good lowering system resource usage, but eventually you're going to cut too much and disable or remove something the OS actually needs. I respect what these people are trying to do, but ultimately it's going to create more issues than it solves.

@@theoc1009 you don't gain performance when your spec are more than adequate to run x task, there're benchmarks on some of the other videos from other content creator, debloating is nothing new. It only helps on scenario where you're really tight on system resource demand. For example you have 4gb of ram, the game you run & system uses 100% of that ram making it stutter and unsresponsive, when you do some debloating you just freed around 500 mb. So you have spare system resources now for the game to fall back to and the experience becomes more responsive and it visibly improves 1% and 0.1% lows fps.

Which meant I can read/watch more for my entertainment than I originally had. My Laptop only ran with Intel Celeron, so give me a break. If I debloated mine, I couldn't even play with my Microsoft account since those processes would be one of the first things I need to debloat, given how frickin huge they are. dangit man... im really kinda pissy right now... im on endeavouros right now (i did start with arch when i first tried switching to linux like a year or two ago because i thought if i landed in a relatively harder part then the easier part gets more easier, also the visual appeal of the logo being a sharp looking A lol. im checking this endeavouros thing now because when i was still searching whatever a distro was i heard about endeavouros being like userfriendly but still a bit lacking or something like that where compared to now the reviews i see of it are complimenting it greatly) but am heading back to windows11, its not because i dont like it, in fact i quite like it but i just dont think i have the time to maneuver around right now... i guess ill just have to wait until i can make money to buy me a new computer or something or at least a new hard drive then i can go do that dual booting thingy if that counts as it... like im going all unga bunga by the snazzy yet snappy UI of KDE or CInnamon and its why im sad-ish to go back. Ill have to practice with the variety of productivity software like gimp or davinci resolve and even godot so i can fit right in with the new world better next time. TLDR: _scurries back sad_

It definitely could, since by debloating, you take off a lot of the unnecessary processes. Whether it'll be significant enough to offer a noticeable performance increase, I'm not sure. You just have to test and compare for yourself.

all i can say is thank you. you saved me from buying new hardware and overall new pc. it was just unplayable (pretty much all games, below 100 fps - high end pc) but at the end all i had to do was to debloat, this stuff are toxic for pc and debloating def helps, keep up the good work. subbed aswell. Edit: for me it was SOFTWARE issue, debloating fixed it!

It sounds like something else was wrong if a "high end PC" cannot run Windows. I've personally used the ChrisTitus windows utility to debloat and it really didn't make much of a difference. It might have been the numbers in task manager but my 3900x PC ran fine before the debloat I can confirm that debloat gave me exactly 0 FPS extra in games though. I really struggle to believe that you had enough bloatware to bog down an 8 core Ryzen PC

Guys I don't recomend using this app this way because it actually may delete some important files and cause some issues, i did the same thing he did and the first thing i noticed are some deleted apps that i needed and other apps are missing their icons, and despite using all methods to fix it, it simply didn't. Be Careful when using it.

The worrying part of these Debloter apps is what they install with themselves. Maybe Microsoft is not selling your data anymore. But who know who is know, and what they are doing with it now…

Someone should create a program that shifts ALL Windows processes to a single core (+it's additional thread)... Then we would have an awesome performance

I've screwed up my OS with tools like this so many times that I won't ever dare to use something like this again. It may work for now, may do good things for your system for a while, but someday there will be that update, Oh boy... that one windows update that will need some of those files you got rid of weeks or even months ago and something will break. And you're gonna do a clean OS install and make the same mistake all over again. Have a good trip.
