no! windows 10 is perfect.. I don't understand why bring up windows 11 and I see there's 12 in the making... and it is ditching support for older hardware... this is very disappointing for me.. I am switching to linux when windows 10 support end.

The more I force myself to use touch on my laptop, the less sense it makes. Everything in Windows is way too busy & tiny for a proper touch experience.

Idk man. On desktop its good, but on tablets its still sluggish, weird, and you cant hide title bars, which are pretty annoying on tablets Windows 8.1 still kicks w11 in butt anyday

I must be in the minority but, although the live tiles were crappy, I otherwise like tablet mode on Windows 10 and think it has advantages over Windows 11, especially on a small screen device

Especially with apps made for Tablet Mode which look terrible with titlebars (StaffPad for instance) .. I even like the animations in Tablet Mode, though they can be quite choppy sometimes as animation seems to be Microsoft's worst enemy at this point.. (Windows 8 on both phones and computers and the Xbox Dashboard at the time were incredibly smooth. Smoother than all other OSes as far as I'm concerned... they just flopped and now they've completely forgotten how to do them :[ ) Personally, I love the tiles, I use full-screen Start even in Desktop mode as it is so incredibly customisable! Folders, sizes, positions are all free to edit and it makes for a really fun Start screen, with all the apps I use available in two clicks and with MyTube, News, Flipboard, Film Closet and Money giving me some quick glances at what's happening in the world. The Pin system on 11 seems like a massive step back to me

Yes…I was considering getting a surface pro once my iPad and laptop dies so I don’t need 2 devices but windows really should put work back into tablet mode, this looks absolutely terrible for touch vs an iPad. The hybrid dream is doing full featured work at a coffee shop with the signature keyboard, plugged into monitors and peripherals at a desk, and multimedia in bed or on the couch…this still looks too compromised.

You're not in the minority at all. For practical purposes alone, tiles were better on windows 10. You can even resize the tiles, and group them; you don't have that option for 11, that's a major setback.

@@mw7967 the surface is a tablet too....a tablet that sucks if you don't use it as a laptop. the iPad is a tablet with a realyl good tablet experience which can be turned into a laptop if you spend a bit more...the iPad can do everything that the surface (or windows) does, but not in the same way....for example instead of photoshop you'd have to use affinity for actual pro features, for coding you'd have to use code instead of vscode, for terminal you'd have to use iSH instead of command prompt...once you learn how to use the iPad as a laptop, it works wonders

I do like the new UI and the performance is improved on the laptop I installed it on, but I decided not to use it on my main 2in1. Windows 10 gestures are better when it comes to touch. The snap windows gestures have always been possible with windows 10 and the taskview when swiping from the right is quite useful in windows 10 compared to windows 11 where that gesture now shows widgets.

Could try swiping three fingers from the bottom in tablet mode? I don't have a 2 in 1 right now but I can taskview it on my laptop using that gesture on touchpad.

@@erinnox1663 Yes, that's what I was complaining. For Windows 11 we have to use the 3 fingers swipe from the bottom in tablet mode to get the taskview, which is not convenient when you're holding the tablet. In windows 10, it's just a thumb swipe from the side.

I have a two in one laptop that the keyboard doesn't detach and I want to turn on the auto rotate for when I flip my laptop into tablet mode but when I go into settings and manually turn on the rotation lock its grey. My laptop doesn't auto rotate its orientation and the toggle doesn't let me do it manually. Any help on this?

I use and I will use Windows before anything else but W is still rough like it is not designed for touch. The new things are baby steps in the right direction but it is even painful to try to tap the bottom right corner to hide everything. The hover functionality to split the screen should be there with the simple Hold of the finder on the Maximize button. Many icons and actions are too small to be used with the finger.

i do not understand why people use auto focus while the camera and object are not moving at all. it constantly shift its focus between user's hand, object and camera reflection. just disable the auto focus.

Watching him maneuver the UI, it is obvious that bottons need to be larger, atleast for the top right ones. But then we can also change that in settings.

Honestly I do not see much difference between Win10 and 11 when it comes to tablet mode. Both has the same problem that is the small icons like the volume icon on taskbar etc. It's just not a system that set up for touch and I would go that far that removing the Tablet mode wasn't a good move as appose making it better (lazy move from MS). No split keyboard option come on MS what are you doing?

No man... Smartphones have tinier icons than WIndows on 2 in 1 devices and you probably don't complain... Touch screens on Windows devices are absolutely delightful and working productivity to me. Cant live without touch on notebooks anymore.

Win 11 onscreen keyboard pops now and then even when it has been disabled and up when I have a physical bluetooth keyboard. No issue when using the tablet mode in Win7 and no way to deactivate it. 11 is worse than 7?

@@GideonLfc They literally just changed the location of some buttons and made it transparent. The features are exactly the same (OK, they did fit a Win-key on the full-sized keyboard that isn't there in Windows 10).

MS be like: 2012, touchscreens barely taking off: "Let's make an OS with touchscreens in focus!" 2015, there are more touchscreens out there: "Let's make a bit more orthodox OS, but keep some touch UI features!" 2021, touchscreens are fairly common: "Now let's make an OS with the old UI purely designed for desktop!"

The funny thing is that if I just hide task bar forever then I won’t be able to escape full screen for some of the apps like blue stacks etc . It’s kindaf frustrating.

to be honest, it is better if they support gestures... I don't wish I have to click the return/back button every time.. moving my hand across the big screen needs much more effort than moving the mouse cursor...

Touch screen interface getting better is my favourite... Right now, my kid Acer Switch 2-in-1. In Windows 10, it is horrible to use without a keyboard.

My touchscreen hanheld gaming PC orientation says landscape (flipped) yet it is really displaying everything in normal landscape mode. Why is it registering wrong and is there a way to correct this? Everything still works fine and the display is upright so maybe I shouldn't worry about it. Just strange that it thinks it is landscape (flipped) I think this happened when I was connected to my TV for gameplay and was adjusting the screen resolution for better performance.

This video is more about win11 than using a touch screen. Best thing to do at present is to configure gestures for your particular needs. Microsoft hasn’t really done much to optimize the touch experience, iPad os is much better at that.

They definitely need to add bigger buttons when using in tablet mode. I went back to windows 10 just because the buttons were too small to press and the gestures with the 3 or 4 fingers is just way too hard when you have such a big 2 in 1 like the surface pro. I get you can make it bigger in settings but that's an everything or nothing option

I like Windows 11 overall, but the Start Menu sucks for tablet mode. Trying to use it, when using my Surface in hand, while in tablet mode is awful. Being able to cycle between the Widget pane and Start Menu in tablet mode would be much better and more intuitive. Additionally, they took away the folders in the Start Menu.

I'm running the beta and it seems good so far but it really feels like this is a new skin for windows 10, not a new OS. This doesn't feel like going from windows 7 to windows 10. I'm torn on windows 11 so far.

I think it would have been cooler if they chose to make a partnership with Google to allow Google PlayStore apps to run on Windows 11 PCs 😔 but atleast the UI looks awesome

I'm sure someone overyime will figure out to flash google play services on this device. You can already sideload apps on w11 so the Google play store can be downloaded. Give it time.

The floating keyboard and widgets remind me of iPadOS while the taskbar and desktop button reminds me of ChromeOS. I think it's great Microsoft is taking the best of other touch OS's and mixing it with the best of Windows like the window quadrant functions.
