Five short variations for orchestra I wrote over the past week based on Microsoft Windows XP's shutdown sound. This was a fun and actually quite difficult challenge as the shutdown sound is hardly a "melody." I attempted to twist and utilize the theme in very contrasting ways. Hope you enjoy and thanks for listening!

Excellent work. I would write Microsoft and ask for permission to market the work. Some orchestras would enjoy this for themed popular concerts.

What’s your composition process, pen and paper at the piano, in your head etc? Also your orchestration is very good. Do you have the ability to look at a piece of sheet music and hear it in your head as if it were being played?

Yes it’s all musescore samples! Honestly, they can definitely compete with some of the top sample libraries now :)

this is actually just the normal muse sounds piano, maybe just double check to make sure you aren’t using the basic sounds? :)
