W95M is just what we need in this crappy World situation, we need fun and to let go!

This was personally my fave from the start. A lot of people were gonna vote for a Sara Siipola, but when people saw this they decided Finland wants to have fun. We don’t care, no rules! 😂

I am a Finn and I'm just super proud that we send a song which actually was at jumbo place on jury votes but crushed its way to victory through televoting! I have had a talk with several of my friends and they are just damn excited and agitated that we do not care about some big wig jury but the normal audience.

The audience went crazy, with live perfomance🤣🤣

Windows95man is Teemu Keisteri's character he uses when performing as a DJ. He is a multitalented and well established artist, but cannot sing, so that is why he teamed up with the singer, Henri Piispanen for this entry. It is their first single together. Never was a favourite to win, but after people saw the live performance, everything changed.

Windows95man is a superhero who is born "naked" from a denim egg. After refusing to be dictated to by others (that woman with the papers), our hero gets the magic pants and shines in doing things his own way. This is how I understood the story. 😁 (That egg is related to the Kalevala and the jeans are of course related to the 90s)

I was not planning to vote this but when I saw the live performance something happened in my brain in that moment. It was such a fun performance and made me laugh.And the song itself is very catchy, a banger like you said. Vocals are surprisingly good also.

It's been a very polarizing song in Finland. Some people simply hate it and feel like it's an embarrassing joke. But similar things were said about Lordi back in the day... Personally, I love the song for the nostalgic 90's trashy eurodance vibe and the entire core tenet of "no rules". It carries such a powerful message, and I hope it brings joy and confidence to anyone feeling like an outsider or searching for their place in the world. And the performance itself is something that requires a lot of planning, skill, courage and dedication. Yes, it's funny. But making funny things well is hard work.

He is a visual artist and has been a dj for a decade. This is his first own song. The vocalist is Henri Piispanen, a Finnish voice actor (for example in Paw patrol's Finnish dub). He was asked to sing the working vocals for the raw version, but they had no tiem to find the final vocalist, so he ended up going to UMK with W95 man 😂 and now apparently to ESC to perform for 200M people 🤣

This is a 50:50 love or hate song, and yes, a little cheesy, but fully on purpose. Windows95man is a DJ and a visual artist, but his audience so far has been quite niche. Henri Piispanen, who is doing the vocals, is a voice actor and singer. And our song this year is a piece of art. ❤

I voted them. I just love the upbeat energy and graziness. Also I love Teemus visual art and Henri is a professional singer, he has had his own band several years.

As a Finn, I'm proud as hell that were sending W95m to Eurovision. Even if it ends up not doing well (personally, i think it'll be a top contender), better to go all in with this, than send another boring ballad.

As a Finn I'm very happy with our entry. I like them even before UMK live, but it was there where they seal the deal with that energy and pure joy.

Finland has always embraced 90s EDM almost as much as metal/hard rock. The most popular radio program(s) in friday evenings prime time has for years now been 90s EDM. I guess EDM just as rock/metal brings out our true form, as we and our culture are so extremely cool, calm and subdued otherwise. As mostly quite genuine down to earth people many of us also embrace with irony the geeky/childlike side of ourselves with confidence. This self irony combined with relative safety and good social safety net offered by society/goverment, are probably big part what makes Finland the happiest country in the world. "why light up your denim shorts?" is not the right question - "why not?" is.. that's the whole point.

This kind of music is popular in Finland. In the summertime young people go to festivals and main thing is to drink a little bit and then they are bouncing up and down together in front of the stage. And we elderly, when we are watching ice hockey and there are brakes in the match they are playing bangers, in every brake, so it is like a cultural for us.
