Jesus, it's exactly like the album. Down to the intonation of each note. And I should know, I have been addicted to it lately and I ended up memorizing it.

Mind-blowingly good. Bought their album, it's a million times better with nice recording quality. Don't waste your life, buy it.

No way I am wasting my life. I bought it, and it is awesome. Minimalist, alien sounding, jazz prog. I can call it what I want, and I just did.

I heard you guys on Seattle's classical radio station yesterday and was blown away. I thought it sounded exactly like the music I wanted to play.

God damn I thought the music in the album was programmed. Huge props to these guys, I love this!
@jymcaputo7 жыл бұрын
so you thought it was programmed??.......and that was intended as a compliment?......some pretty funky programming I'd say, like when the wrong patches are being triggered......but WTF do I know.
@ahguitar17 жыл бұрын
What's the name of this band? What do they sound like? I'd confidently hazard a guess that Dawn of Midi are intending to compose and perform on acoustic instruments in a manner befitting the earliest midi compositions. If Dawn of Midi don't sound programmed to some extent then they've missed the mark. Ultsi's comment was a fine compliment.
@Re3mus7 жыл бұрын
I'm convinced they actually program it and practice with the rendered tracks.

fresh sound. in acoustic midi sounds very good.

On the album, if you listen carefully, you can actually hear that it is at least partly programmed. Nevertheless this is absolutely wonderful music live and on album.

Listen to my first track after someone told me to check out this cool "electronic" music. Listening and digging it, picturing an elaborate modular system jam session. Look them up on YT and holy cow, the exact opposite of electronic music. Nice jams!

sounds like a slightly speeded up Nik Bartsch ronin rhythm clan.....as he ( Nik Bartsch ) has been doing the "hand in the piano" thing for years.....still great though.

@dawnofmidi, do you happen to have tour dates / cities for your european visit?
@aisrani10 жыл бұрын
the europe tour hasn't been announced yet, it will be on our website www.dawnofmidi.com when it is...
@iltx3coAAAA10 жыл бұрын
dawnofmidi is the February 24th date in London confirmed or not? On songkick it says "postponed" but on TicketMaster and on OTO Caffè there is no mention of postponement.

I feel like if you don't appreciate the intricacies of music, one would easily become annoyed or bored of something like this. Personally, its ear candy to me. It's not as fun if you don't try to separate the parts and try to figure out the rhythm or time signature. It's more of a musician's band than anything. Their shit just makes me giggle inside because they're so skilled at keeping the flow of it all. Their track Dysnomia reminds me of Radiohead's "packt like sardines in a crushed tin box" and then I found out they opened up for them during their last album. Fucking great.

he is dampening certain notes with the left hand achieving harmonic overtones and a more rhythmic percussive tonal quality by eliminating the pianos sustain.
