I'm Korean and a few years ago had a wonderful dining experience in Lyon. My wife is a writer and I have the pleasure of visiting wonderful places when she does tours. We were picked up and taken to the Jean Nouvel designed opera house. Rode the elevator to the all glass penthouse where a long table awaited occupied by famous writers and French publishers. A multi course meal by the best Lyonnese chefs. Fantastic evening.

When you travel with your wife, you make an enchanting couple, the conversation flows, your appreciation for the food, the wines, the service and the table-neighbor friendships is so enjoyable :) The same, when you travel with good friends and you can stay as long as you like. But, as in this instance and at least one other, when you are visiting someone who is working the next day, I find it insensitive to continue ordering yet more when your host/guide is giving subtle hints that enough is enough. I've been in that situation, trying my best to stay alert, knowing that I have to get up in just a few hours for another full day's work. It's why I declined a very lucrative job offer when I moved countries. The type of visitors were extremely well-heeled, some very charming but all wanted the ultimate gastronomic & venue experience that would last way past my bedtime and enthusiasm level. That's why I appreciate the videos with your wife so much more. You are both enjoying life at the moment and it's so nice to see.

Can't share the good comments due to todays pesonal experience. Went there with my wife because of this video and the service as well as friendliness was very poor. We left early, after the second course because we felt ignored most of the time. Was a different thing with locals/resindents... Pitty because disappointing...

Merci pour cette vidéo et ce partage ! Je prends toujours autant de plaisir sur cette chaine ! 👍👍 Je suis français mais quel triste sire ce Jean-Yves, le frenchy ! Quel rabbat-joie ! Il tire la gueule, (comme dans une vidéo précédente d'ailleurs où on le voyait en visio) et montre tout à fait le visage de la France et des français comme on peut les percevoir de l'étranger bien souvent. Le seul moment où on le voit sourire et s'animer, c'est quand à la fin il ouvre grandement les portes de sa boutique et va enfin pouvoir faire son business avec Wineking. (Avec publicité gratuite au passage). Ça contraste vraiment avec la bonne humeur, la joie de vivre de nos deux amis coréens et des étrangers en général qui visitent notre beau pays. Heureusement, tous les français ne sont pas comme ça ! (Je dis ça pour les étrangers qui souhaiteraient visiter la France). Never have I seen someone go from quenelles ( pour moi la sauce doit être aux écrevisses - true Lyonnaise!) to andouillette and back before like that. Brave man, but plenty of wine to wash it down.
