I learned Wing Chun earlier and I learn Muai Thai now. I did not see any definate Muay Thai boxers here, and I did not see good Wing Chun except the 1st one. Wing Chun is good for self defence at the street against ordinary enemy. Muay Thai is good to attack anyone.

I don't understand why people don't know how to leg check. It's considered a basic technique in Isshinryu Karate. Fight number 4 is more like what would happen if I fought pro. If I kicked someone in the gut as hard as I can kick, they'd shit themselves.

Cualquier artr marcial o estilo de combate debe evolucionar y adaptarse con el paso del tiempo y los nuevos estilos o tecnicas de otros y por supuesto ponerse a prueba para pulirse y comprobar que tecnicas son efectivas y en que contextos y situaciones. Ejemplo, en un ring hay normas a seguir, se tiene la certeza de que tu oponente no va a utilizar un arma o te va a terminar en el suelo como si podria pasar en el caos de una pelea callejera. Al margen de lo expuesto en mi anterior parrafo. Tambien todo depende de la persona que usa el arte marcial. Sin ir mas lejos y dentro de la profesionalidad estos combatientes no son grandes profesionales, cosa que no quita que peleen bien por supuesto, pero me pareceria desacertado evaluar y adjudicar grados de efectividad a las artes marciales con tan solo los resultados de unos pocos combates. Es un tema complejo. Mi conclusion, tanto Muay Thai como Wing Chun son artes marciales muy efectivas si el nivel de entrenamiento y la capacidad potencial del usuario es la adecuada, como en todas las demas y ambas son dignas de entrenar con los maestros adecuados y aportan mucho a quien las aprende. Por desgracia vivimos en un mundo en el que en plataformas como youtube, una gran mayoria que no mueve su culo del sofa ni para bajar a por el pan, nos viene a reseñar en videos como estos y con escasez de pruebas y conocimientos, cual de ambos estilos es mejor que el otro y que por supuesto el opuesto no vale para nada...en fin...lo de siempre en estos tiempos.

Wing Chun seems to be more effective as a way of training or exercise rather than modern day combat unless it can be find a way to adapt and still be Wing Chun and not basically MMA.

Wing chun alone is something that doesn't seem to be any relevant against any fighting sporter. If you have to defend against a regular person withot any rule, ok, wing chun seems may pretty nice even without the necessity of being an athlete, but everything changes when you face somebody who knows well how to punch, kick and knee. There's some guys I see doing Wing chun as masters where I live and they promote a lot on Facebook but they are kinda embarassing from the perspective of me who's done just 6 months of boxing and 1 year of thai boxing. Roundkicks are EMBARASSING...slow, now power. Fron kicks (teeps): are all about flecting the knee, instead of using the hip power...so no power at all and something that doesn't cause any harm to anyone who has good abs muscles. Punches...what punches? They are uncapable of doing even the basic punches in a very regular way. They train a lot on deflecting...ok..cool...using 2 hands to deflect one right round-kick and being completely open to my left hook. They train a lot against dummy people who fake to attack them, just to show off how effective their techniques are, but they'd fail bad against the most averaged amateur fighter...just truth be told. If you then mix it with other styles, that can work and can actually be something very nice to do; but doing it alone, is like being Superman wearing a cryptonite shirt = useless.

None of these prove anything other than the best fighter wins a fight most of the time. For example I train Muay Thai but I'm not a fighter. If you put me in a fight with someone who practices Wing-chun and who's had a lot of fight experience they'd best me easily.

I may be wrong but Wing Chun looks effective against someone with minimal fighting skills. It looks too reactionary and moves too slow to fighting at real-life speed. It looks more effective with other martial art techniques. Seems like a lot of posturing and waiting, when today most fights start fast and end quick. Maybe I haven't seen enough practitioners so I'm not critical just a little skeptical.
