Wing Chun is one of the most famous martial arts in the world. Every year, people from every corner of the planet flock to its birthplace, Foshan, on a pilgrimage to explore the roots of Wing Chun. In 2021, the Foshan martial art of Wing Chun was selected as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative Project.
Two dominant figures are largely responsible for the global fame of Wing Chun: King of Kungfu, Bruce Lee, and first-generation grandmaster, Ip Man.

Wing chun originated in southern shaolin temple in fujian province. Later 3rd generation masters came to foshan🙏💮

For me, genuine Wing Chun incorporates an upward twist at the end of the punch and this gives an incredible amount of power to the punch. I rarely see this included in Wing Chun practitioners on the net

Agree Steve. My Shifu Billy Blanks teaches this. His lineage is directly from Ng Mei and Wong Fei Hung. However Grandmaster Dong is the fastest i've ever seen. Faster than Tyson. ty 4 vid

Yeah there are two ways of saying as for 葉問, Ip man or Yip man.

Robert Downey Jnr hasnt done Foshan ,he trains with William Cheung in the "Traditional Wing Chun System" thats not Foshan ,far from it ,like a kijillion miles from it and that Sifu your talking with is exceptional ,excellent skill level ,makes a fresh change from the usual absolute rubbish i see on you tube ,i dont know how they learn in China but we are taught Foshan last after Hong Kong and Mainland so going by that alone says he has an awesome amount of pure gold knollage but having said that ,once youve learned Foshan the right way ,all of the other 2 systems is already in there only its used in a far superior way ,i could write a book but i wont bore yez all to death.

Impresionante. No se falta entender el idioma. Simplemente ves la bonita cultura China, que es totalmente diferente. Además, la gran parte del mundo entero, ves, otras cosas diferentes: como lujo, dinero, joyas, como la tecnología, que si es cierto que sirve para algunas cosas,pero no en todo. Sin embargo hay sitios como demuestra en el vídeo, que es una maravilla. Disciplina, humildad, respeto, educación. Cosas que hoy en día, se ha perdido por completo. Estas palabras desaparecen hasta del diccionario. Admiro la cultura China y les tengo un gran respeto.

I am sure 嚴詠春 Wing Chun is a lady in late "Ching" dynasty. So it is wrong to say "his", She has (had) her teacher in Kung Fu named 五枚, who was a daughter of a rich government officer, the political and social situation was not peace or safe at the period, so a rich man would wanted to find ways to allow her daughter able to protect herself with some kung fu technique (normally). The rest is history.

Not ipman have made wing chun but. Wing Chun is one of the world's youngest Kung Fu styles and the only one founded by a woman. That woman was Ng Mui (or Ng Mei), a Buddhist nun of China's famous Shaolin Temple.

bruce lee developed JKD after seeing the flaws in his other martial arts... (he didn't go very deep into wing chun, or the others.. so he took what he did learn and combined and chiseled away at it all).

And please stop claiming RDW has mastered WC. He’s an actor and those are fully choreographed fights scenes. Bruce Lee wasn’t GM Ip Mans apprentice he was mostly taught by his disciple Wong Sheung Leung

Facts 👍🏻 It's a common misconception that Bruce Lee was taught by Ip Man but it was actually Wong Sheung Leung who primarily taught him. Though WSL was definitely one of the best students of Ip Man.

Travel all the way to Foshan, to preserve this cultural heritage in a Cantonese province, but end up speaking Mandarin??? Wing Chun is a southern kungfu art. They just stop saying Cantonese terms for hand positions like: bong sao, huen sao, pak da, etc here. Think about how many Japanese words you integrate in your head when you study karate; all the standard terms for kicks in TKD use Korean. But China of all places is destroying pieces of its own martial arts culture.
