Phil, Thank you for taking the time to review this box set. I really appreciate it. I'll try to answer all the questions I'm seeing in the comment section. First off, yes, I'm the one who put this box set together at the suggestion of my buddy and well known manager Larry Mazer. I did make a point to recruit Ted Jensen who Mastered all of these originally, that was a must. And yes, It's the only re-master I've ever approved. I too am bummed the booklet (which I personally spent a lot of time on) didn’t make it into the CD version, if fact, I was not even informed that this was coming out on CD! If I had known that I would have insisted on including the booklet in the CD version. So to anyone wondering, when I put this together, my sole intention was only a vinyl box set. Regarding “bonus” cuts. It was my call not to include them for two reasons. 1. In my mind those songs didn’t make the records for a reason. The records as they stand in the box set are what my intentions were for all three records. Bonus cuts became a thing back in the day when bands had leftover material and someone decided to “market” it as a bonus, Simple fact is (in our case anyway) those songs were not as good and didn’t sit well in the records artistically. 2. Adding more tracks reduces the quality of the sound of the vinyl. Regarding the Demos, Yes there were previously release in the demo anthology, but I felt in this case as a historical item, it was interesting to include a selection of the demos to show the progression from demo to album. In some cases I like aspects of the demos better. And to all the haters who think I’m “ripping you off” ..F**k off.. I didn’t do this for the money. Great Chanel Phil, Keep up the good work!

Great review! A must buy for fans of 80s Hard Rock. Winger's brand of Hard Rock has elements of Prog and AOR which gives them an unique, easily recognisable sound. Kip Winger is prob one of the most underrated songwriters out there. Its insane that there are still some people who dismiss them with silly derisive terms like "hair band" or hate them just bcs of Beavis and Butthead. Anyway their new album kicks ass and they continue to put out great music 🎸🎸🎸

Great job Phil. I do not own this, but do own their entire discography ( studio albums) in CD 💿 form. I feel WINGERS musicians are all under the radar: never get proper credit. IMO. They think get a bad rap. Their 9️⃣3️⃣ PULL is my personal favorite. Thorough job @ unboxing “. Thanks. Phil 👍💯

Hello Mr Aston. Winger. My very first cd I have ever bouth and with extra bonus track. I agree with you about Pull album, the best from these guys. It's a real shame not including Higher and Higher by the way that was the first thing I notice on the unboxing. Why no additional tracks, b sides, for example Battle Stations from Bill and Ted's bogus journey. But well, great to hear from this band classic albums and one more from Ted Jensen. I still don't understand why they won't include the booklets in the cd box, same thing with the Ratt one..

I did have the Rock Candy Records reissues, but i sold those. I already have the Ratt, Dokken, Motley Crue, and Skid Row sets. So, I want this. The selling point is reading on Blabbermouth saying that Kip supervised these, and that these are the only remasters that he'll endorse. There's no booklet in the digipacks? The Crue and Skid Row cd sets had a small booklet in the digipacks. The Ratt cds had the credits on the spins.

Don’t watch all of your reviews only because some of the artists don’t interest me that much. Really a fanatic of Winger and will own both versions of this box set looking forward to taking it all in. Also this is the first time some of Demo Anthology has been released on vinyl. Great video! I am one where I purchased this box set solely because my first vinyl (S/T has a skip)... The bonus vinyl of Demos has already been released as a DOUBLE CD... so we're only getting HALF of the tunes on this vinyl.... I still think this is a missed opportunity for the bonus tracks as I counted 8 songs that could have been on that 4th vinyl, instead of the demo one (If you compare it to the new Van Halen box set of the Sammy era)... I am also "hoping" that Chapter One means there will be a Chapter TWO one day... BONUS TRACKS MISSING: Battle Stations (Bill & Ted Bogus Journey sdtk), Higher and Higher (Original CD bonus), Never (Rock Candy reissue of the S/T CD bonus), All I Ever Wanted (ITHOTY Rock Candy reissue bonus), On the Inside (GH re-recorded from the Pull sessions), Hell to Pay (Japan CD Bonus which was on the GH), Out for the Count (Karate Kid II sdtk), Silent Night (video appearing on the ITHOTY VHS)... my 2 cents... :)

I would have liked a live album insted of a demos disc, such as the Live In Tokyo 1991 concert that was released on VHS only in Japan that it''s a terrific concert.

Just because it says Chapter One, doesn't necessarily mean there will be a second box set. I just took it to mean it was Chapter One of their career. They aren't releasing vol 2 of any of the bands they've released so far.

I will keep originals for the lyrics al ever i wanted is not on either. I may buy them later on on.. I really get mad when they go through all expense and no booklet.. Elo has best booklet in boxset I have. next the Police message in box set.

All i wanted is for the glam bands reissues this year to be sold separately.I was waiting so many years for my favorite bands to release reissues because im a young fan.And all suddenly 2023 one shit all of them bam!wasp ratt dokken motley crue winger😂i can’t afford that.I only got motley because last year before the box set they sold the albums also separated

I always thought Winger were wrongly grouped in with the rest of the pretty boys with loadsa make up bands of that era. Although I only have the first 2 albums (with the first one on vinyl) I always thought they were great.

As a the demos Cleopatra records released two disc in 2007.. it feels a little cheap with demos one disc.? As far as chapter one title. What would be chapter 2 the Frontier Years? I really don't care for winger 4 IV . And I have those cds too. Yes , there out of print up two Karma.

Umm.. Higher and Higher is not on this issue from the first cd what happened?

I think Winger struggled not just because of their timing with the whole grunge movement but also because of Beavis And Butthead, which had a character that was intended to be an unlikeable nerd who always wore a Winger shirt (as opposed to Beavis and Butthead's Metallica and AC/DC shirts.) I think they were always on shaky ground for the very reasons you cite as being what's notable about them - better musicianship, better songs, but maybe not really fitting into either the glam-rock that was popular at the time nor metal. They didn't quite fit in. And then the constant jokes from Beavis And Butthead really kind of eroded what little foundation they had out there.

Rod Mogenstein, not Rob and Reb Beach not Rob. The otiginal CDs sound too thin.
