The very first PC game my dad ever bought for me. When I was 4, my dad would always start up our old clunky Windows 98 and run it for me. Boy I had hours of fun playing shootout on this thing too!

It's hard to believe that this game is ten years old. Great game. Used to play it all the time when i was a little kid.

Is it bad that this is still my favorite NHL game ever made?

The crowd audio is so much better in this than the newer ones

Awesome game. In 1998 i got my first PC Pentium II 300 MHz from my parents and this was the first game I was playing on it :)

Having played most of the EA Sports NHL games since this one, I would say NHL 99 had the best main menu presentation. Just my opinion.

I used to be addicted to this game, it's still fun to this day and I even play it once in a while.

Anyone else remember shooting the puck from centre ice, and it would just go over the goalie and into the net 9/10 times? I won so many Stanley Cups that way.

This was one of the first computer games I ever played. I was 3 years old when it came out in 1998 and my dad got it from a friend of his for Christmas and let us play it. I actually still have the CD for it but I haven't played it in a while. I also have NHL 2000 and 2002 on PC and NHL 07 for the PS2.

I loved the camera angles during the demo mode. This game was one of the first ones where you had to bust your ass all game long to pull out with a win. So hard but the challenge was so much fun.

I wish todays NHL games had the same kinda of little things 99 had, just some of the presentation choices like the commentary and camera angles

Oh my God. This game was pretty much my babysitter growing up.

I love that there's actually an empty seat when the player goes to the bench, in the new games they just hop ontop of eachother :P

when i first got this game i though it was the greatest thing in the world...kick ass music, funny cheats to use in game (constant Zamboni driving around), simply fun to play overall

this was the best hockey game ever. refs would keep a big smile on their faces as you checked them through the glass. replays were hilarious. u could also put in a code and the zamboni would come out and clean the ice while u played!

Remember that I played this game with my dad when I was 6 years old.. Memories!

I took NHL 07 off my computer to play this again. Love this game. That being said, NHL 94 is still the best

the anouncer for the intro who says " welcom to Detroit, Mich where EA...." is the same for the early Need For Speeds....I think

i love this game. great gameplay. fantastic soundtrack. it was my second game of the series after nhl 98, which i played on ps1. this one i played on pc. it is a huge difference between these two games. nhl 99 is better in all aspects. it is worth to be the next step in the series. go penguins !!!

Funny EASports had a free downloadable version of 99 on there website up until about 4 years ago. I think you could only play Detroit vs. Flyers. This is the only year in the series that I never played. Cant remember why.

I have this game on PC and I have had it since I was 4 years old and I got it to work on Windows Vista but it is kind of slow on there.

This game was awesome. Clearly the animations and models were terrible but I have so many fond memories of it.

Do you people know that NHL 09 uses a part of the song at 1:09 during the pre game when players are exiting the locker room? I was blown away! This is the first videgame i destroyed due to AI cheating. I was playing an expansion team, i think Nashville. I was up 7-1and they tied the score! I should put this cd on, but i'm used to analog controls now!.

This was a good game but also the only one I brought back.... with 2002. The problem with this game was it ran like pooh on the ps1, terrible frame rate, and was the worst one that had that problem. 2002... Well it became too arcady. Thank God Montreal Team brought back the game to where it once was. 1998 was the best with 94.
