These old commercials made me laugh. Don't think I have ever not minded commercials before watching these again.

One of the best decisions that Gen. Curtis Lemay ever made was advocating like hell for the B-52. Boeing received the initial contract in February of 1951. (Started with 13 jets) The first flight was in April of 1952. Production ran from 1952 through 1962. It appears that the Air Force is finally going to re-engine the still serving fleet of BUFFs. All of the upgrades will keep the iconic B-52 in service through 2040. I wouldn't be surprised if it continued to fly after that date. It might just become the 1st Air Force jet to serve 100 years in continuous use. Thanks for posting this original Wings video!

"Aging now, these B-52s....." Still in service, and it's 28 years later. Quite a design to last that long.

It's cheap to maintain compared to the B-2.

Great! This is the original one that I had back in 1989 on VHS tape. I do not care for the revised "wings" documentary's that were called "Great Planes".
