Yes, my first upgrade was the sway bar. Helps with the sway with no impact to the ride like the Sumos do.

Welcome and good luck with your travels. I use the yellow ramps to get the rig level. Don't have any automatic levelers, but the SumoSprings keep the coach pretty stable, so I'm good. Well, I could never figure out how to use the RM unit. It was so hard to see anyway, I just gave up trying. I just replaced the radio with a Sony unit with carplay and it is so much better in every way. I still use the Garmin as it is closer to my line of sight and it a little more adjustable as to what info is shown. For example, I display the elevation on the Garmin and have the time to destination on the google maps on the sony unit.

The Rand-McNally in our View works better after I did the software upgrade, but as you say, it is very difficult for the driver (me) to see. I might have missed it, which Garmin do you like? I am considering the Garmin DriveSmart™ 61LMT-S for ours, mounted just like you showed, should be much better.

I have the RV 760 with 7" screen. Use that and Google maps on Carplay.. Garmin is the easiest to see and nice display, although I usually take the google route as it is quicker.

I removed front sumos. Thinking about Foxshocks but haven’t done it yet.

Garry Hall I screwed mine on the side of the passenger seat sheet metal. Pretty easy install, but had to find a good ground. It’s all under the seat where the boost solenoid is located. Just followed the directions that came with it.

Hi Paul, Just got back from a 7000 mile tip San Diego to Boston and back. Now I'm not liking the front Sumos. They are too harsh on some of those bad freeway joints and I hit a ton of them on this trip. I'd say do the sway bar first. It helps with the tilting and does not impact the ride. I got he Hellwig since I liked the idea of just replacing the original bar and not having to bolt something extra onto the chassis. I'm happy with the rear Sumos, but might change out the front ones. If you do want to add them, try the blue ones, they are less stiff than the black ones I got. Some of this is personal preference. The good thing about the Sumos is they reduce the rocking when walking around inside. I don't have levelers and probably never will.

Thanks for the update , Ron. Wow, that is a lot of driving ! No doubt you are happy to be home. We live at Ocean Hills in Oceanside but still have a family cottage back in CT. Flew there for six weeks this summer. While we were there we went to Albany and bought our RV and when our East Coast stay was over, we drove it back to Oceanside. In July the whole Mid-West was 100+ temps every day with very high humidity. Also with PM violent T-Storms. We abandon our sight seeing plans and headed to the rockies - where it was beautiful. In any case, half of your trip was sufficient for us. Thanks for the input on the Gear. I saw another comment online saying the front Sumos were too harsh. Maybe I'll start with the sway bar and try the rear Sumos. I was driving up to Murietta last week with 30-40 MPH Santa Anas bouncing me around and it convinced me to continue looking for a better suspension solution. Thanks for you help. Paul

Sumo now makes a yellow rear spring set with 1400 lb capacity at 50% compression SSR-338-54. I was thinking about getting them, but noting your stiffness concerns with your front sumos not sure. What’s your best guess on going stiffer in the rear?

Little Paulie 2017 View I called Sumo and asked them about my situation and they recommended the black ones for the rear if I wasn't towing. If I were towing a trailer etc, then the yellow would have been recommended. I did drive the rig after putting on just the rears and the roll was reduced and the ride was a bit harsher in rear. I would take the trade off of a slightly harsher ride for better feel and control. I took Ron's advice and I used the lightest ones in front (blue). The "road" definatety gets transmitted up to the steering wheel with the front Sumos. But it corners much, much better and I feel I have better control so I am happy with blue front Sumos and Black rears. Good luck @@jobluez

They also accentuate the expansion joints thru the steering wheel, but the control and stability is a great benefit and I am very happy with the suspension upgrades. Hey, thanks Ron, I found that in the little bit of time sitting here. I figure it will fit mine also, mine is a 2006 Sprinter chassis, but a 2007 Winnebago View. I doubt that the windshield would have changed. I hope to enjoy our new/used addition, 1st RV for us and so far liking it :-)

Dany Laliberte pretty easy. Drill 3 holes for wires and mounting screws. Then 3 wires need to be hookup. The ground wire was a little more difficult. Took me a couple hours.

Sorry not familiar with that. Not sure it is needed. Shocks seem most important after the rear Hellwig upgrade.

No, the ride is plenty firm and controlled with existing struts. Am actually thinking the front Sumos are a bit stiff for all those expansion joints on the interstates. Not sure if another change is in the cards.

My front sumos are blue, which I think are softer. They seem okay on the expansion joints. Not sure if California roads s same as Florida.

@@davidharper9976 my grip concerns the roads between CA and FL. Long stretches of bumps. They do vary from state to state and which interstate you are taking, but bad roads are everywhere broken up by a few sections on nice new paving.

Tires need to be removed as they install from inside of the rim. Discount tire did mine.

Someone else also suggested a device that balances air pressure between the rear tires. Years ago I had a flat on the inner tire of a 2015 Sprinter that I luckily noticed right away

David Ahn never tried airbags but my previous RV had some old airbags and they never held air for long so it’s a nonstarter for me

Rough state highways in NM and AZ made it plain I need something softer! The Via seems quite a bit less shaky when passing trucks/RVs than my in-laws' View, but I could use more crosswind stability. But primarily I want a more compliant ride. I've learned there are actually quite a few air suspension options available stateside. I like the idea of adjustable ride quality depending on load, the possibility of leveling the coach using the airbags (if you get 4), and the compressor might also fill low tires.

The sway bar was first and made the biggest improvement. Sumos made stiffer but gave a harsher ride. Didn’t notice much with shocks. I believe the sway bar was around $300. I installed it myself.

Chris my door wouldn’t close either. I had to remove the 2 screws that’s secure the OBD connector. The connector is loose but I can push it back with the scan gauge plugged in and close the door.

The Hellwig sway bar is great. Not sold on the Sumos since they make a rougher ride. They do help while parked to reduce rocking while walking around the RV. I would like to remove the sumos and get Foxshocks.

Sorry about that. I installed the trickle charger a long time ago before I got so involved in recording how and why I do stuff. For the AC circuits, I just combined both branches together in the circuit breaker box.

We just got a 2017 view and I've been Binge watching your videos...some things I'll jump at...the oil change etc. I'm pretty savy with wiring but I pulled off the dash panel at the fuse box and took out the glove box to find a power source to add a usb charge port on the dash....a maze of wiring harness. Appreciate the tight construction but.... no clue where to start. Anyway...love your channel. Hope you make a $$ on orders from your Amazon links...I've blown my budget on them! Papa Jim.

Rick Manwarring it is an ADCO I got on Amazon. If you use it, the windshield has to be clean before adding. I’ve scratched my paint astound the door putting it on a dirty RV.

I was asking about your Sprinter's Sun Visors, that don't normally move/pivot from the Windshield unless the Gray Plastic Clip is removed. I've had our used 2018 Sprinter for one year and just found out that the Sun Visor can Pivot once the Clips have been removed. I hope this clears up my question.

Sprinter vans are a work horse in the delivery business, but the RVs do seem to stress everything a bit more. I do agree that repairs are very expensive. So far hasn't cost me anything as I do my own maintenance. The large numbers of sensors can be annoying, but I am considering that all new vehicles have the same issue. Of course, if Toyota made a suitable chassis, I would run to get one. Valid points
