Not only was it tragic for Alan to die, it must have been totally devastating for his father Jerry who had already lost a son when Alan was in school! Tragic

WOW, what a powerful episode! This is one hell of a tribute to a future Hall-Of-Famer. It’s such a shame that such a short time later, the world would lose the great Neil Bonnett, under tragic circumstances as well.

I was only 7 when Alan died, so I never appreciated how amazing he really was until I was an adult. He and Neil are both sorely missed.

When nascar was great. 1993 was a rough year

God, How I Remember those 4 days at Bristol, We had gotten down there early Thursday Morning, Rode around for the day looking at display cars at different sites and buying souveniers. AT the Hotel that evening and the alert came on the hotel tv that Alan and 3 others had been killed in a Plane crash enroute to Bristol in Blountville Tn. No one wanted to be at that race or the track, It was the quietist race I ever watched in person, I listened on my scanner and all the drivers were on edge or just no talking at all. Very Very Sad Time for Nascar. Davey Allison killed in August and then Neil Bonnet killed at Daytona the following February.

Neil was also one he'll of a driver one of the most like able guys on the circuit sure wish he was still here he is miss ever race l.d.k

In 91 our local bar had a pool, Pick your driver for the year, I chose Alan. Won a few dollars. Next yr won it all. After he died, picked Davey. Know how that turned out. Thanks for the memories.

My oldest sister was an Alan fan from the get-go and followed him all the way too. 1992 was a spirited year for my sister and I because I was a dyed in wool Davey Allison fan. ... One of us was gonna have a guy who won the Winston Cup and when that no good SOB Ernie Irvan wrecked at Atlanta and collected Davey in it? Was insanely pissed off but I believed Davey would win it in '93...sadly that never happened. Alan won the Winston Cup that year in the not Thunderbird they renamed it Underbird. Alan never got to truly enjoy his championship when his plane crashed and a few months later? My guy Davey dies in a helicopter wreck at Talladega....I hurt so much I gave up watching NASCAR for a few years I hurt that much. When I came back as a fan, I pulled for Tony Stewart and loved him tons! He was no nonsense and gave back as good as he got....3 Winston Cup titles for 'Smoke'

What a great video! Alan was a true champion who always did things his way, and his determination truly paid off when he won the 1992 NASCAR Winston Cup title. It is a shame that both he and Neil Bonnett lost their lives within one year of each other. Alan and Neil were and always will be winners in the truest sense. May God rest both of their wonderful souls.

A "REAL" champion to remember and I will always will. I will also never forget waking to the horrible news of Alan's death on my alarm radio on a cold April morning!!! May Alan Kulwicki always rest in the most peaceful rest ever!!!

Mark Brooks was on the plane with Alan. That crash was personal to me and I was wearing a Alan Hooter's T-shirt that day in Atlanta. I was a Dupont guest at their first race with that new kid

Its like he got right to work, didnt waste time, like he knew he didnt have it. Man, i always wonder how many more titles.

He blew a lot of engines those early years and surely had to be frustrating and expensive. I didn't remember how he ran each week the year he won the championship but listening to Neil that was a heck of a run and it all was on his shoulders. A one car team and Junior said of such , it was easier to push water uphill than win consistently with one car when others had 2 or 3. I don't believe a fan in the stands at Atlanta wasn't proud of Alan. A northern college grad that came south to race with the good Ole boys and did it his way.

I grew up a Ford racing fan. Alan and Davey were my 2 favorite drivers. I felt like I knew them and when they died it hurt. They were the best drivers imo. #3 and #24 would have had their hands full.

for me it's a tragedy that alan kulwicky and d.allison are no longer of this world it would have been very grad pilots, and they were already in their lifetimes. but i have a preference for Kulwicky, in his way to be very classy very humble!

People give Petty flack for daddys money, and I guess I did the same thing about Earnhardt because he kinda lost some damn good competition and looked like seamlessly won every race, Imagine If we hadn't lost Richmond, Kulwicki, Davey Allison, and Neil Bonnett. Dale would have way less wins and Championships
