For those of you saying SZA was robbed of Album of the year, is it not good enough that she was not only nominated for nine grammys, the most an artist has for this year, but also won three. Midnights broke multiple records and was one of the most streamed albums of the year. SZA is an amazing artist, but stop dissing on Taylor just because she’s popular, in the end it’s for a reason. Learn to f*cking appreciate both artists and see that they both won different awards for good reasons.

It broke multiple records because Taylor has an insanely large and diverse fan base. The amounts streams shouldn’t determine getting album of the year. It’s about the quality of music and this was probably one of her worst albums. SZA’s album was fire from top to bottom and had hit after hit. She won the “Urban” Grammys but when it comes to record of the year, song of the year, album of the year etc. they always go with the more cookie cutter mainstream artists

@@vincew4297 Although I agree that Midnights is one of the more, low quality albums of Taylor’s, quality is not the only thing that matters, it’s multiple factors that flow into it. Also, if they only choose the main stream artists, Don’t you think Taylor would’ve won Song of the year, record of the year, or best new artists by now? She has not gotten a single Grammy for any of these categories and that is for a reason, just like her winning album of the year. And to be honest, the Grammys is most likely rigged anyway, it’s just an event to make other fan bases fight each other and make artists who didn’t win feel bad about themselves. And at the same time, I would have been just as excited if SZA, Miley, Olivia, or any of the other artist won because all of their music turned out so amazing, I’m just a big Taylor fan and don’t appreciate the unnecessary hate for something out of her control.

But quality should be the top priority for critiquing an album. A top album is supposed to be quality from top to bottom including Sales and SZA’s album wiped hers. From the amount of hits she had to the streams and sales, if the quality isn’t there then an album shouldn’t even be considered. Also the reason she hasn’t won for song or record is because her songs/records are not groundbreaking, it’s the same sad break up story over and over again. Also it’s not “hate” on Taylor at some point you have to call a spade a spade. Taylors gotten over for her popularity, not because of the quality. I’m not saying she hasn’t earned the success or the Grammy’s she has but a lot of her work is massively overhyped and the Grammys she’s received as been a representation of that
