The circular plate that removes from the top is not for feeding the stove you remove it for direct heat for frying I believe hope this helps. Ian 🏴

Thank you for going through the detail of the stove. Been on the fence for a while but i think im convinced. I also have a possible solution for the hot handles. Wrap the handle with some leather. Just relatively cheap leather as im sure over time it will dry and crack. It should help reduce the heat to possibly enough to grab without gloves.

Yes the top plate can be removed to add wood from the top and a wok can be used but the real purpose for the removable plate is for a smoker accessory that winnerwell markets

The circular top is for cooking over the open flame - use of a wok, or placing a grill over the flame for a flame-cooked steak, or a cast-iron skillet or Dutch oven, etc. It's a very versatile option. I've never used it for adding wood.

Everybody gets that hole in the top wrong. When you take that lid off, you close the air from the front of the stove off and you can cook, marshmallows, and hotdogs directly over the open fire. Because the stove is drafting out the pipe it draws air in through that hole and you don’t get any smoke in your tent.
@commonsensecritic54687 ай бұрын
I believe they also sell a smoker that uses that hole.

Thank you for sharing! I would say that I ordered the leg extensions with mine, used them from day one and cannot imagine using it without them, if anything it helps my back for sure. I may give it a go without them but have no desire to have it sit lower. Last note on the add-ons, I have all of them as well and they do fit nicely in the case, along with the legs extensions and mat. The case also has the strap on top which accepts the triple wall pipe nicely.

I have seen people use tent stoves in the tent that you have in your video. They place a heat proof material at the top of the tent where the chimney exits.

For camping, how long does the wood last in the stove (on low)? Also, was there any reason you picked this one over the woodlander double view? That one is almost the same but has longer legs, more windows on the fire and perhaps better control of the burn rate. I don't think you can store the water on the side though.
@DannaGesellchen Жыл бұрын
Depends on what kind of wood you're using. But if you're using it for heat you'll be up a lot. Hickory/oak/ash would last maybe 1 1/2-2 hours at the most. I didn't want the extra glass for durability issues. Eventually, the glass will get broken. We ordered an extra one for the front just in case.

We've done that sort of thing, but the oven is nice for baking. But probably I could use a dutch oven or just invert a cast iron pot over bread or whatever I bake too.

Think about what you could carry in a modern version of the Mormon two wheeled cart. I am thinking about the frame from a bicycle cart frame with handles. There was a man who had a cart made that tilted up and his tent roof sat on the upright handles of his cart. He pulled that cart thousands of miles over several years. Of course he was built like an ox. Any cart I pulled would have to be pretty light.

Door gasket is probably not used as they want the air flow leakage to keep heat off the front glass & give a minimum air intake for safety The pad melts so I’d add a cooking tray under it or foil… The water pot is bigger than a kettle so what’s the point paying so much for a particular gadget specific to that stove.. I like the flue cooking box but it is a bit small & very expensive… It is a great stove though I got the medium for car to campsite trips Did you get the heat fans (stove fan) there realllly great

Your water "heater" has a two design purpose, heat fast on top, keep warm on the side as well as creating space for top cooking. And the top divit is in fact for direct heat to cook with. Many think its a flawed design and not needed really.
