God I love the sound of hounds running on a hot trail. I haven't been able to bear hunt the last 2 years due to health issues.

Thank you so much, this is outstanding content and knowledge. As someone who grew up without a father to teach me these certain life skills I've had to teach myself. I train dogs and horses, now I'm specifically training them for hunting. I can't wait to wait to get my first bear. Thanks for videos!

Shane Greenham thousands. Sometimes whatever your running may take a while to tree or bay up. I’ve had a bear race run14 miles then had some tree witching 500 yards. Hard to predict but 100% fun

Shane Greenham you need a lot of ground, large blocks of public land are usually where people run hounds where legal.

It is done where I live on tracts of land that are probably no bigger than 1,000 acres and are mixed with private land some people have permission or own the land but mistakes still happen when they hunt those small tracts of land but that is where the big bears are in this area they feed on apple orchards in that mixture of private and public land I will not turn a dog loose in that part of the county because I don’t want to get on peoples land so I hunt bigger pieces of land that are probably 40,000 acres but the expense is fewer bears during season no good road system in most of it and rougher country basically everybody hunts the small tracts of land in the foothills instead of the big mountains because the 4 and 500 pound bears and good roads are there and they don’t care about getting on peoples land and heck 15 20 years ago before a lot of outsiders started moving in nobody cared if bear hunters hunted on their land. Times have changed and I fear bear hunting will end in our state before long and it is a shame. So the moral of this is if you are a bear hunter hunt a piece of land that is big enough you don’t trespass and make enemies I’d say 10,00 acres and god enough roads to catch your dogs.

The hunter never really knows what the day will bring. Hunter (could) have the best rifle best ammo, (could) have the best of trail dogs, but not one bit of this is any good if hunter can't get to the right place before prey shows up. God Bless and thanks for sharing Sir. 🇺🇸

I hunt bear and have for years but I still can’t agree with setting up bait buckets or using dogs. I guess I’m just old school
