Unfortunately the hot summers and brutally cold winters and muddy clay soil make it impossible to maintain the roads. However its economy is good. Really diverse, lots of manufacturing, ag research, logistics and more. Sadly racism led to a significant amount of "white flight" from central Winnipeg over the last three decades, producing a bit of a donut city. But that is starting to change with several billion in developments underway downtown. Come back in 10 years and I think you will be impressed at how much more life you'll see downtown. Most Canadians know next to nothing about this amazing historically important culturally rich city. Thanks for the tour.

I lived there for almost 3 years before moving to Calgary. Such a great city! I miss it a lot, except the endless winters 😂

My in laws and families live just outside Winnipeg so I've been there. Terrible in the winter. Windy Winnipeg.

The standard phrase is that I lived there for so many years until I moved to Calgary. And all because Winnipeg is an absolutely faceless city and many people move from there to Calgary.
