they're strong but I think it's fine to play them, they have their weaknesses, especially for new players because they kind of need to keep track of a lot more things than other factions, which can take away some concentration from other things, congrats on your victory :)

Yep. I guy that used to come around to some of the local groups in my area likes to tell people that he is our region's "alpha" gamer. When all of the groups went private/invite only during the pandemic, he was quietly not invited to any of them. To be fair, he was a very skilled gamer, but that's because his AP is so bad he once caused a game of Viticulture to last almost 4 hours. I'd probably constantly beat everyone too if I took 15-20 minutes to make every single one of my turns.

You can't score Public objectives without your home system, but Secret objectives and the Imperial Strategy Action (i.e. while occupying Mecatol Rex) are still scorable.
