Crush your barbs with pliers, it will still leave a little hump, won't interfere with your catch rate and will make it easier to remove from the fish. Also makes it easier to remove from your hand, the way you handle those fish you are going to stick yourself. I have been to the ER before to have hooks surgically removed, it sucks, always crush my barbs now.

They are here now. morning and afternoon. Before the rain a bunch of people showed up casting these big wooden floteballs constantly. seams the fish just backed away and were watching from the stands. they were there but kept their distance. when there's not so much comotion they are all over the place feeding like they don't have a care in the world. no licence unless you fish rocks or a boat.
