Winter Camping and Wildlife Spotting at Ensa | Pin Valley, Spiti | In Snow Leopard Country - 1/6

Let’s kick off a new series of videos from this winter (2018) in Spiti. In this series I go camping around Spiti looking for the Snow Leopard and other wildlife like the Ibex, Bharat (Blue Sheep) and even wolves. Spotting anything other than the Ibex and the Blue Sheep would be nothing less than a miracle but I’ll give it a shot nonetheless.

Lol. These places are nothing like the wilderness of Alaska. It is pretty safe actually. And in winters I take care to visit only the places I have already visited during the summers. That way I know the terrain beforehand and know where to find shelter and help if anything goes wrong.

True, but I think if you trek more and more northeast from these mountains cutting across perpendicularly towards Tibet , you get deeper and deeper into untouched and wild mountain valleys where few people have ventured. Of-course it's still not comparable to the vast snow fields of Alaska but it's got a charm of it's own with Tibet visible from the peaks on one side and mountain forests on the other.

The music @ 2:23 Gave me the exact feel of what you felt there ! Sometimes language is largest barrier when it comes to expressing what you feel. Music solves the purpose ! and on contrary how it solved my purpose is really difficult for me to explain. Again Language barrier :D

Calmness is what I have noticed in your voice in all of your videos sir🙏🏻, which makes the video more more interesting 😇☺️ May be the effect of serenity around or could be because you are like this. Ahhhhhhh I can't thank you enough for making such kind of video. I believe in simplicity and living with minimalistic things, the humdrum of present day lifestyle really snatches your sanity sometimes. It gets difficult to match with the speed of life and remain sane at the same time. Spiritual practices helps a lot and also to know the life of such people and places they live in with such minimal requirements gives power to stay in the ground yet content and calm. 🌻🙏🏻

Yeah! Snow always thea on the high Himalaya 😁 and it must be! Actually Zanskar had a similar culture and landscape like spiti but with many beauties to capture and I am sure someone like you will experience it for sure. I hope you will do it 😊 All the best .... We are waiting 🧐 Love ❣️

Sorry. I meant to say that I had planned to visit Zanskar this winter, not Spiti. (I just saw my mistake after your reply). But couldn't do it as my plans for trekking to Zanskar (avoiding the chadar trek) were not feasible. My last option was to try and cross the Pensila pass in April, but then the coronavirus happened and I had to return home. Will try it again next winter.
