Thoughts on winter camping in a (new to me) Cirrus 620 truck camper plus one hack in order not to use the grey water tank.

Thanks for sharing the info on the 620 truck camper. I'm actually looking at the model for myself. Appreciate the video. Hope you will share more on the 620.

I too appreciate your thoughts and video on the 620 as I am thinking of getting one myself. I am also needing to get a truck and think the 8 foot bed is a good idea as you could use it for additional storage (bike etc.). 👍🏼♌️

Try leaving the cabinets open at night to prevent condensation in them also a small fan to circulate the air helps a lot 👍✌🍻

Thanks! Good advice- got some small usb computer fans to keep the air moving around.

We had a Scout Yoho on a half ton Chevy, but now have a Nucamp 400 and love the heater. Our Scout had the Dickinson and it did a nice job also. We have the 4 battleborn batteries and love it for all the power.

I saw one lady put soup cans under her mattress during the day to get more ventilation underneath

Thanks for some winter camping discussion. That seems like a lot of moisture accumulation for one person. You need to vent even when it's cold. We leave our rooftop vent popped up a bit sometimes even leaving the fan on low overnight. We put Dendry in our camper when we rebuilt it, then later because we had it I put our Froli system under the bed also. Finding moisture under the mattress is scary. Hope you're getting lots of time out there skiing.

Agree- it definitely felt like a lot. I have started leaving the vent open at night with decent results. The biggest thing though was getting some usb computer fans to blow air under the mattress during the day. I can start with a bunch of frost on the aluminum and then after eight hours it’s totally dry. With the Froli system it really helps by allowing the air to circulate. Right now I wish I had a fan vs. the AC- the AC vent function won’t work on 12v. Maybe that’s a summer project- or I might find I want that AC! Happy camping!

You need a dehumidifier that will take care of the moisture.

Just wondering how can you put that camper up and take it off the truck by yourself?

Hey- this camper has side legs (like most other truck campers) that can expand/retract to lift the camper off the bed. I take them off as this stays on the truck most of the time but put them back on if I need to. These legs are electric but my old one had crank legs, either one works by yourself, but the electric is much faster as all four can go at once vs. you running around cranking each one. As for the release mechanism on the camper straps, you simply lift up on the handle and it goes into free mode where it will extend by just pulling on it so you can then use the legs to take the camper off the truck.

Do you have a cassette toilet or something similar?

Hey- it has a cassette toilet but I haven’t had to use it as there are public toilets around me.

Are you really just venting your grey water out the side like that? Wow. So much for the next camper, eh.

I think it depends on where he is camping. With wilderness camping that solution would be fine as long as he is using it sparingly and with biodegradable soap.

EZ Karen...its gonna be okay. Look at the sheer mass of snow where he is,,,,,a little biodegradable soap bothers you? You need a hobby....

Haha! Agree, but that truck configuration has the highest payload rating. You are way over payload on most 150/1500 trucks with the 620.
