Another lovely winter day at the cabin! Two recent snow storms left us with roughly 3.5 feet of snow so we thought snowshoeing would be the perfect way to spend the day! We ended our day with an easy cast iron skillet apple crisp before heading back to the cabin!
How to make skillet apple crisp:
Melt 1 TBSP of butter in the skillet and add 2-3 sliced apples
Once apples begin to soften add to the skillet
* 1/4 cup brown sugar
* 1 tsp cinnamon
* 1/2 tsp ground cloves
* 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
Continue to cook down until the apples are soft and the butter and brown sugar have made a gooey sauce on the apples.
Sprinkle the top with granola ( we used homemade granola) but any granola will work! Let cook another minute or so until the granola is warmed. Remove from the fire and enjoy! Ice cream is always a good choice to add on top, too! :)
