About the channel - My Name is Rob Wootton and I love fishing, I'm an England International Angler and fish in the England Feeder Team. We visit various venues all over the world and catch several different species of fish including Carp, Bream, Roach but also some weird and wonderful species not seen in the UK. The aim of this channel is to help everyone learn different styles of fishing but also to help us refine existing styles so we can all catch more fish!!

@@RobWootton the easy answer to that is... Its the like the advert that asks Daddy ...or ..chips ... The kids reply Chips ....!!! Fishing first and foremost... Even my dog knows that. Because he comes with me .he pushes his mum ..my wife out of the way to get to the car to go fishing ...👍

Sorry for the potentially silly question...with the shock leader is it simply a case of loop to looping 5 arm lengths of 12lb line to your 4lb mainline?? Love the vids btw and gotta love good ol' Shearsby #leicesterboys

I use a 3 turn water knot - a bit of a pain pulling it all through but a good knot

Ref great tips brill vid .I've been using shockleaders this year my match fishing don't think I'm doing anything wrong .but had situation on on lake with a snag in my swim as the leader is 12 ld .hooklink 7 ld mainline 8ld .so snaping of at mainline .so gone back to just mainline .any suggestions apart from heavier mainline ???

Great video again, used that method in a match during the week and came 3rd. Used a small Preston maggot feeder but killed the maggots before hooking them by rolling on my knee, seemed the small carp liked that better or the live ones were being pecked at by small roach and gudgeon.

Great video Rob as usual... I would like to see a video of you setting up completely from scratch in 1 hour prior to a Match its something I struggle with as a beginner to Match fishing it would be good to get some time saving tips. as far as I can see this has never been done on video yet

Great video again Rob, is there not a lot of silverfish in the lake you fished or is there a technique of feeding them off, I don't fish maggot feeder very offer but when I do I get hammered with roach and skimmers I'm not saying that's bad but when in a match weight is king. How long can you keep maggots in a bag until they don't come back? Thanks

Hardly any silvers in that lake so maggots are great ... I reckon you can keep them in a fridge in a bag for maybe 3-4 days before they die

Not just a good angler, but a nice bloke too. Rob, why the shock-leader for such a small chuck on light feeders please? Why use light line in the first place and not say 6lb/8lb right through please?

I like the fact the stiffer line doesn’t tangle and also the lighter the mainline the easier it is to sink

Nice video mate happened to notice that butt rest you're using i have the same one and i dont like it as it seemed as though the butt of my rod would slip, like it couldnt lock in in the place i wanted it. In the end i just bought a screw in butt rest which i'd screw into the middle right leg.

I like simple stuff and that’s about as simple as I could get. if I feel it’s sliding I just twist it slightly so it grips the butt

@@RobWootton Same mate i'm no different love to keep things simple. I have actually since regrettably sold a lot of my fishing tackle as well as two boxes- both Preston, an Onbox five series and a 360. Any recommendations for a new box for say no more than £300? have to say i like the Inceptions.
