Winter from the Four Seasons by Vivaldi arranged for harp. This is the first arrangement of the Four Seasons for solo harp and I arranged the entire work over the course of 2019. In Winter you will walk tentatively on the ice, stamping your feet with the cold and shivering in the snow. (1st movement). When you arrive home, you will light a fire and sit and watch the gentle flames (2nd movement). In the final movement, you will run on the ice hoping not to slip and fall.

Gosh I really love Vivaldi's work. I've been listening to Winter from the Four Season over these past weeks a lot, and I think this is my favourite performance yet, I even got goosebumps.

Love the range of techniques. Really inspiring! The fingernails in particular work really well at 1:10 but there are all sorts of lovely sounds. And what a treat to see someone playing from memory - not enough people do this and it makes the whole thing so coherent and compelling. Thank you for this!

I notice you changed the tempo a few times during the song. Was it done on purpose or was it too hard to keep up with the initial tempo?

great question! I decided to find ways to highlight the contrast between the solo violin sections and tutti orchestra section in my arrangement so these were musical choices.
