for those of us who worked our butts off at the 88 winter olympics, this song and what it means to all of us...will be forever chiselled into our psyche......great music, fantastically performed to remember an incredible journey.......thank you david foster......

It is fascinating how David Foster plays this so smoothly and energetically at a faster tempo than the original recording. As someone who performed this piano piece live before for a company event, it is not an easy piece to play once you speed it up.

If you know who you're looking for, you can see the bassist sitting behind Foster, who's at the piano - the guy with the long hair and beard. He's Leland Sklar, possibly the most prominent session bassist in the music business. Probably the bass line just isn't coming through on this recording.

Man! Than Japanese orchestra is tight! Almost like sequenced, that's how much perfection they strive for. Gives the Master genius opportunity to relax about the timing and just play. I saw videos with him and other orchestra's where I cringed for his sake as they were fractions of seconds out sometimes.

Is the origin of Vaporwave? The intro to "winter games" is basically that form to a tee. Blank Banshee (a fellow Canadian) is one to check out for reference. Amazing song from David Foster that lives on in the hearts of most Canadians!

Hi David, this is David Boudreau. As you know I wrote follow up lyrics just a few months ago to “Winter Games” I had no idea there were lyrics to it as the lyrics were copyrighted under “Can’t You Feel It”. Too bad I was not around then, because my lyrics describe the feeling. I was in Aspen Colorado in 1982 for the Subaru downhill ski championship. I wrote the lyrics from my experience being there. It is more than “Can’t You Feel It”. Just my opinion. Best Always, David Boudreau

Nope. I just checked it with a metronome. The original studio version is played at 120 beats per minute. This live version is around 132. Too fast in this version.
