In this video, I’m going to show you what it’s like experiencing a minus 30 degree celsius winter in the Nordics. So if you’re curious about how people survive subarctic temperatures, or indeed from a tropical or temperate climate and looking to move to the Nordic countries, this video will hopefully give you the knowledge to survive, and thrive, in a cold and dark Nordic winter. The information in the video is also suitable to those looking to move to Canada, Alaska or (for some reason) Greenland.
We begin with an overview of the weather and the lifecycle of snow. Then it’s clothing, how to prepare your home and driving in winter conditions. Afterwards, there are some health guidelines followed by how Norwegian culture adapts to make the most of the winter season. To conclude, we discuss the ever-contentious price of electricity, followed by an array of energy saving tips to help you lower your bills.
If you move to Norway, nobody hands you an all-in-one winter guide to help prepare for your first winter - so this video aims to be just that. It’s full of practical advice, do's, don'ts and winter tips to ensure you navigate your first winter with ease. Some of the topics covered include the northern lights, the science of snowfall, shovelling, ventilation and condensation, occasionally accompanied by drone footage of Norway’s beautiful winter landscapes.

INNVANDRERS GUIDE TO NORWAY
Innvandrer is the Norwegian word for immigrant which literally translates to one who wanders in. “Innvandrers Guide to Norway” is a cinematic vlog and travel documentary series that aims to show what it is like living in Norway and to make Norwegian history and culture accessible to English speaking audiences. Please note that although every effort is made to maintain accuracy, I am a professional videographer and not a historian, academic or linguist.

This was really well made! I am from Artic Norway, so my best tip is if you are going hiking in the snow wear woolen socks. If you cant, and one of them get wet, change socks. What I mean is, the wet sock goes on the dry foot and the dry sock goes on the wet foot. This will prevent the problem he had in the video.

Videoen var egentlig for innvandrere...men jeg må si at "Per Person" kanskje er det beste navnet jeg har sett på KZfaq. Works in English and Norwegian. Brilliant!
