Starting off at Dolphins Point, here is an early morning walk down to Coogee Beach, time was 7.00am, Saturday 15 June 2024, sky was overcast with a temperature of 13 degrees Celsius (55F)

This is a fantastic video of Coogee Beach in winter under a dark, cloudy sky threatening with a thunderstorm. The beach deserted but for a couple of seagulls. And the sound of the surf breaking on the rocks or rushing in on to the sand of the beach. It gives me a feeling of the endless aeons of time this same scenery was there even before any man existed to watch it. Maybe this sounds a bit melodramatic, but it’s exactly what I felt. Thank you for this terrific video!

Thanks Rolf, your comment made me think as in the thought of going back a hundred thousand years ago and standing on that very beach, now that really would have been something, one can only imagine. I filmed this not long after sunrise, some of the street lights were still on, such a different atmosphere at that time, happy to hear you enjoyed it 🙂

Thank you, I'm glad I decided to do it last Saturday and not today, what a miserable day it is in Sydney town ☁️🌧️☔. Barely any walking accomplished so far today, hopefully next Saturday.

Great to hear you like this place, even in the colder months it's still a nice place to visit. Yes, not too many people around at that time of the morning, the complete opposite to what it's like in the summer 🌞. Thank you for watching and appreciate your comment 🙂

Glad you liked it, it was refreshing to go for a walk at that time of the morning, it's very nice there just after sunrise. Although the camera didn't pick it up, there were people swimming there at the south end of the beach. It was 13 degrees but the water temp was 19, so it was warmer in the water than out, that's my fun fact for the day, hope you are well and enjoy the weekend coming up 🙂
