Though some shoppers will wish for stronger low-RPM throttle response and a more comfortable ride in some situations, I think the MDX A-Spec will readily connect with those after a confidence-inspiring crossover experience thats got a highly pleasing powertrain, and a surprisingly athletic feel dialled into the drive. My first sh-awd vehicle was an 08 RDX and loved the sporty handling and all weather/all season awd system. It is amazing how much the sh-awd system is working in the background providing you with a planted and sporty ride. A sh-awd vehicle performs like a much smaller vehicle compared to the fwd versions. It has been sh-awd since (11 MDX, 18 RLX hybrid, and 19 MDX hybrid).

Good review!!!! I own an 2020 Aspec MDX. You were basically explaing what I'm feeling when I drive it. Very Accurate. I always thought they were underpowered until I bought one.

Had an RL a few years ago. Fantastic vehicle in inclement weather. Fantastic! Colorado, Utah and upper areas of Michigan, no problem. I will own another SH-awd vehicle.

The MDX TYPE S might solve any issues you mentioned especially with the Air Suspension and increased torque.

With that dollar amount extra, I'd rather prefer Volvo, Audi or Mercedes. Even wit such high cost Acura interior is cheap plastic, giving just a premium look and not luxury look and feeling, whilst, Volvo, Audi and Mercedes they all have their own class.

Just curious since I live in Ontario and I am planning to purchase the ’22 RDX, why do you recommend sport mode vs snow mode for the deeper snow? Wouldn't the snow mode allow for more wheel spin?

I had the ‘22 Aspec I wish we gonna have lot of snow this wimter si I can drive the MDX and play with it. Coming from honda crv 2005 SE is a way leaf of feel about this SUV and we gladly have it. We always love Honda due to its reliability and performance. We still owned the old crv 2005 SE till this day with 165K miles and still going strong, it got totaled though but still working but patch of taoe at the tail light side and use it for roopam around town and druve work to home and for some errands task. mDX sseating at the garage ampnd I always looking forward driving it.

What kind of damping system does it use now? I hope they did away with the old ADS system they used in the older versions. Otherwise I LOVE my MDX. It is a fun and confident experience. I have a 2010 with the ADS system and it was great while it worked but only lasted 140,000 km before it needed to be replaced. Some people have reported them failing earlier.

I think the Canadian version get the options the electronic dampers like the 19-20 MDX Adv and 17-20 MDX hybrids. The +22 MDX in the USA get regular reactive struts/shocks. Have to upgrade to the Type-S for the air suspension. I have a 11 MDX Adv with ADS and 19 MDX hybrid with electronic dampers.

Surprised at the review. It was just so-so vehicle from how you put it. Others are saying you liked it. I did not get that out of your review. Almost emotion-less. Key words: "Compromise" and "Deep snow struggle"... When I saw snow and MDX, I thought you'd love it. Very disappointed. I have a Passport and love it in winter. The 3.5 V6 is butter smooth and will be on it's way out soon for 4 Cyl Turbo's. Better love while you have it. It's not coming back.
