I got lucky with this one since I was wearing my ice mutation gear. Wear armor with ice gems in it! Leeching flurry helped a lot with the ice tick damage the boss puts on you.
I tried this fight on my alt in pretty much scrap gear and was having a really bad time till i put in the ice gems lol that helps the most with this fight imo.

this was my first run, i didn't even know about the flame protection mechanic I just kinda bursted it down lol.

What's the flame protection mechanic I've been trying this for a day n half now 😭😭😭 any help would be appreciated

@@RC_Zak there is a fire orb that you can pick up that makes you immune to the ice tick damage the boss puts on you for a short time. if you look towards the beginning of the video its on the left side of the boss. you go over to that and hold E and it protects you from the ice.

Thanks to all those players who have shown you can beat this boss with a variety of builds. I couldn’t beat him with either of my Healer builds. I had to re-spec to a fire mage with 400 INT, 150 CON, 700GS fire staff, 8 ice ward gems, desert sunrise and Ancient Ward and Potions. And then I used the flamethrower and ignored the mobs and killed him as fast as I could. First try with that build, but 5th try overall before I got the idea to min/max my build…

nice! I've heard from a few healers now saying its tough to do enough dps with the amount of damage the ice stacks do.

Yeah definitely was a struggle as a healer even as a paladin build xD Any chance you have a video or something for your build? Looks fun curious what perks youre using on armor / weapons and attribute specs!

I don't have any build videos currently, but basically the main staples are having Leeching Flurry, and Unending Thaw perks on armor. I personally run 4 freedom with a mix of defensive perks and ice harnessing. Finisher, and an IG with either Empowered Ice Spike, Unbroken Winds (if using wind chill), or Deadly Frost (if using ice shower) With Attuned Leather Pants I run - 25 Str // 150 Dex // 350 Int // 25 Foc // 100 Con Not using any jewelry artifact currently but when doing harder content you can swap in the Blooddrinker ring for survivability.

its near the border of great cleave and edengrove. take the fast travel below the new dungeon called "Shrine of the Wolf" and then take that curved road that crosses the border.

i tried this 3 times and left. this guardian was lvl 69 for me and had loads of hp. at some point it just one shot me .

Hey sorry to hear you're having trouble with it. If you haven't tried it again since the patch last night they did reduce the health and some of the damage that the soul trial bosses were doing. You should try it again today and see if it feels any easier. Sorry the video wasn't more helpful, but if you have any questions feel free to ask :)

I died twice trying to play by the mechanics then won on my first attempt just DPSing it down with buff foods applied. The way they want you to fight this boss is stupid and whoever at AGS made it should be torn a new one lol.

Yea I tried playing by the mechanics when I did it on my alt just to see what the fight really was about. I feel like the mechanics themselves are fine and simple enough. But that ice burn damage just does way too much eventually just making it impossible if you dont get the orb.

I dont get it. You have slightly different mechanics (timing) Boss I encountered has ton more life. You hit it with 3K damage and take him 10 times more than me. Joke

not sure about the differences in timing with the bosses attacks. might be due to those mechanics being health gated.

@@phenixdwn that doesn’t explain how you’re doing that much damage. A rapier and ice gauntlet normally doesn’t melt like that . What’s the setup?

@@Pathaholic i don't remember exactly what gear I was wearing, I am pretty sure it was mutation gear. but I know it had unending thaw, and leeching flurry and a few ice harnessing perks in it.
