This scene shows character development. In civil war bucky was breaking the cage by punching it to get out and kill people. Here he is punching the van to get those guys out and save them. The way he punched the van's door gave me the same vibe as when he was breaking the cage in civil war.

Bucky has tried and failed so many times to save people, he carries the weight of those failures and that guilt. He finally not only gets a win, but he gets thanked as well - he was FINALLY able to save someone, not just avenge them after the fact & the fact he had to take a moment to accept it, because it’s so new to him again and it’s his first solo save in almost 80 years, it was amazing to see. It was nice for him to purely save someone and not just clean-up a mess he caused, this save was guilt-free.

YOOOO, I might be insane for thinking this hard but hear me out: Earlier in the show, when he jumped out the helicopter, he landed on his back right? I think that was to show he wasn't a superhero, yet. Until then, he was operating as a friend to steve, sam, and wakanda, so he didn't earn his "superhero landing". But, after saving these hostages, he fell and landed like most heroes do, heroically. This was a very underrated moment.

This show in general is amazing but my biggest problem is with the final episode overall. There was a massive buildup until this episode. But flag smashers were killed/neutralised abruptly, especially Karli. Also this scene is the most important moment in Bucky's arc. Until this moment, he was afraid of the Winter Soldier in him. He didn't know if he was redeemable or if he can be a hero at all. He had been holding back a lot while fighting due to this. But here, we see the Winter Soldier again but only that he used his strength to save people. After the guy thanked him, Bucky had his moment of self actualisation and that he can be a hero. Next we see him fight the flagsmashers harder, no longer holding back. But... The scenes that came afterwards were completely rushed. I wish Bucky had more heroic moments because he deserved it, after being used against his will a lot to do dirty work. In his heart, Bucky is a protector who fights bad guys to save people and the world. Bucky's survivor arc is perfect but hero arc feels incomplete. Also, Sam got to be Cap but still even his role felt rushed because of the way in which Karli was killed. I think they probably shot more scenes but decided to edit it off to save screentime. There is no way the script has such a quick finish.

Fact: when bucky was pulling the door you can see some red lines in some areas in his vibranium arm like it has veins that could burst like a normal arm if you pull on something too hard and remember bucky could feel with his robot arm so he could have felt the robo arm gonna burst Edit: yes this fact is by the Canadian lad so I didn't figure that out, the canadian lad did

So fighting Thanos wasn't heroic? Also it hadn't been 90 years. That would have made him only 16 when be became Winter soldier and he was more like 27/28 when that happened.

They could have made Bucky’s big ‘heroic’ moment be more impressive. I Bucky saving people is cool But Like ripping a lock off a door is Bucky’s big moment in the series? What a fucking joke.

Bro bucky doing what he did is not something black panther, cap or john walker can do lol. It looked like it took everything out of him to break and open it and his vibranium arm which basicaly makes him super strong physically, stronger then he already is with the super soldier serum. If bucky was struggling to do this with his arm, none of the other fighters are doing it period

@@chosen713 Black Panther could have just cut the luck off using his Vibranium claws and Steve could have just used his shield to break it. Not even mentioning that Bucky’s big heroic feat of breaking the lock off is overshadowed by Sam who literally just has 1 of his drones laser 1 of those same locks off in seconds.

@@Joel-sc2ee BP's claws in the mcu can't even break bucky's original metal arm how is he gonna break the lock if bucky couldn't completely destroy it, forcefully punching it over and over. I'll give you that about cap though, the shield may get it done

I have a hard time believing that Bucky full on hit that damn thing so many times, and didn't just knock the door off of the hinges. His old arm easily plowed through a concrete wall in Civil War.

Metal is ductile, concrete is not. You can deform metals which would only leave a dent. Concretes cannot be deformed, they are much more prone to breaking. Concrete is only good for compression, blunt forces are very effective. Trust me, I'm an Engineer.

Bucky is well aware of how he is utilizing the left arm to break that 🔒 instead cause it’s pressured to the door it seems.He also did pulled off the hinge, the left arm has red lines shown which could mean the vibranium couldn’t handle much of the pressure he pulled with it.
