Nice work. Appreciate you passing on the lessons learned. I was taught that root cavities like that don't usually work out for many reasons. Don't feel bad, I had a rock about the size of a baseball thaw out of the root/dirt and hit me in the chest. It could have been a bit higher at that really would have hurt. Build a snow wall behind the fire pit to reflect heat in the summer use rocks. If you had a piece of clear plastic for a door you could have slept in 70° heat.

Love this. Thank god I found your channel. I'm not a fan of the non talking vids. I like it when people talk and let us know what they're feeling at the time. Also not fan of the long portions of cutting logs and making shelters like we get the point already. And so not a fan of when they show off their tools ya know when they have that camera show you their knife or axe, so you've got a shiny knife whoop di doo. You keep it well balanced and informative. Con todos los respetos !!. Montais unos espectaculos para hacer fuego... Llevo una cajita metálica , ( de esas donde vienen caramelos ) llevo preparado unos corchos de botella de vino , cortados en tiras , y un encendedor de yesca. El mechero mas infalible que existe. Cuanto mas viento , mejor funciona. Se trata de una rueda pequeñita dentada , como la de los encendedores normales , montada sobre un eje. Esta rueda , prende una piedra de ferrocerio , que a su vez produce la chispa que prende una cuerda , hecha de una fibra que arde muy bien ( YESCA ,color naranja). La cuerda suele tener unos 30 cm. Se pone un extremo sobre el pedernal , con la chispa , prende la cuerda y se sopla sobre esta para mantener el ascua. Con ese ascua , se prende soplando , lo que se quiera. Como es natural , se empieza con ramitas pequeñas o broza seca. Yo utilizo los corchos como he mencionado anteriormente. Llevo unas piedras de pedernal de repuesto y cuerda de yesca. No hay mechero mejor. Made in Spain !!. Para apagar la yesca , se tira del otro extremo de la cuerda ( yesca ) y se introduce en un tubito que tiene el mechero. Con el dedo pulgar 👍 se tapona el otro extremo y la falta de oxígeno apaga el ascua. Mas sencillo e infalible , imposible. No se atasca , pequeñito , duro y bonito. Prende cualquier cosa. Ademas , puede buscar en youtube: Encendedor de yesca. Y lo explica muy bien. Pd. No hay nada como dormir al abrigo de mi señora , nuestra perra Mora y una buena lumbre , en el frio de la sierra !! CHEERS !!

I saw the comment about the spider but we all have fears… people go out and shoot wildlife so theres always going to be something you do wrong. The person who said about the spider… I understood but unless they also only have organic everything , the food you eat has caused the sacrifice of all sorts of wildlife insects and animals - even if you are vegan.
