I agree with someone who was sad watching Lincoln. When you first walked by him and he was lying down but wagging his tail at the sight of you. I knew it was hard for him to get up and take that walk with you, although it might have been good for him after he got started. But outside of worrying over him, the rest of your video was spectacular!! I love hearing you tell your stories, speak your thoughts as they race through your mind. I had no idea of the damage a beaver could do. I knew they could build damns in the water but I never thought of them killing live trees. I was just thinking of them moving and chewing on dead wood. I can see where you could appreciate them clearing some of the land near the pond but worried about how you might want to slow their pace a little. I wondered if you had more than one beaver. I don’t think you would want a family of them if only one has done ALL this work! And seeing the lines around that tree that you think a woodpecker has created. I have had woodpeckers in an orchard and field where we lived but I never had that done to a tree. That looks so perfect I would be interested to know from a leaf what kind of tree that is. I always have been told to identify a tree, you look at their bark and leaves. I also thought it was fascinating to see that wasp nest on the ground. I would buy me one of those spray bottles of wasp killer. It shoots out a stream up to about 25 feet so you could stand far away and spray it. That would force them out so hours later you would be able to use a shovel and scoop it up. It was cool seeing the deer tracks too. I know from watching Brenda that you and the girls hunt deer. They are such beautiful animals to watch too. I think you are so fortunate to live on an acreage and have so much nature surrounding you. I enjoyed your video immensely, listening to you speak and looking at your dimples!! Banks has your dimples and I am not sure about your other daughters. While Brenda cooks, it’s Banks that will be there or show up briefly in her videos as she cooks, and Brenda will make her speak into the camera. She, along with your other two girls are just the cutest. And Hannah is just precious. You have a family that we have come to adore. So yes! We love your videos where you show us things, teach us things, and share your recollections. I hope you are over your flu by now and you are able to join your family. God bless! Kathy (from Oklahoma City)

I've missed stories about Lincoln. Poor guy, he looks stiff. ♥ I take a large can of wasp spray with a pointed nozzle, wait until it's COLD or almost dark, and spray straight into the hole until the can is about half empty. Then run inside. The next day, if I see any yellow jackets still hanging around, I spray the rest of the can in and around the hole. Should do it.

I thoroughly loved this video. The walk around some of your property with you and Lincoln was so enjoyable and informative. The winter/fall landscape is beautiful. I can just imagine how fresh and gorgeous it is in the spring/summer. I, like some of your other followers, have a real fear of snakes. I grew up a country girl playing and going on adventures in the woods and fields surrounding my house, with never a fear of snakes. Children have no fear. As an adult, I'm extremely fearful. During your adventure, I was so hoping you would not find a snake. If you had, I would have closed my eyes until I thought there was no chance of it being on the video. I know that's crazy, but that just how I am these days. I close books, tear out magazine pages, and throw away newspapers, if there is a snake visable anywhere that my eyes can see. My grown sons think I'm crazy. I have ordered both of your books for them as gifts. I know they enjoy your writing as much as I do. Keep writing and making videos. Both you, Brenda and your beautiful family always bring sunshine to this retirees day. Thank you for sharing your family life and adventures with so many. I'll look forward to another talking, descriptive walk one day soon, along with your always fascinating stories of living a blessed, joyful life.

I so enjoyed this hike in the woods with you & Lincoln. I started out following Miss Brenda quite some time back &, naturally, I discovered you through her. I don't always have the time to read everything you post or to watch the videos, but in 2 parts, I watched this entire video. You are such an inspiration. I greatly admire your love of nature & your family. And Lincoln. I'm so sorry that his days here on earth with you came to an end. It's so gut wrenching, but I know he is still with you & that he will be patiently waiting for you when your time here is done. Thank you for sharing with us.

I absolutely love this video! I am watching it in December 2022. From what I can understand Lincoln went to doggy heaven this year in March 2022. So you had to of made this video in January 1922 if I am guessing correctly. You have my heart about Lincoln. I saw your video here a couple of days back when you had just gotten out of quarantine and you were speaking how you had lost Lincoln in March. Enough of that I’ve enjoyed this video so much. You need to do it again. And as soon as your other little addition to the family is able to walk with you
