PONFERRADA-LAS MÉDULAS (29 km)
We start the stage passing through the foothills of Monte Pajariel leaving Ponferrada and the river Sil on the right. We cross different towns of the lower Bierzo between tracks bathed in farmland and vineyards until we reach Santalla del Bierzo, where its balcony shows us the sea of poplars among which meanders a hidden river Sil. Afterwards, two good climbs await us: the first one is Villavieja and the Castle of Cornatel, a hard but beautiful ascent that is well worth it. The second one is the arrival to Las Médulas, a little bit more difficult, but already heavy due to the amount of kilometers, although the unique enclave lends itself to a last effort.
