Excellent reaction and breakdown! You'll soon have multiple people clue you in on this artist, Jari Maenpaa. He's essentially the Finnish Devin Townsend writing and recording everything on his own. Crazy!

This is probably my favorite song from this album. The chorus always gives me the chills. The song is so beautiful and sad at the same time :')

Jari Maenpaa truly is the modern equivalent of composers such as Mozart or Beethoven. He is an incredibly talented man (as is the rest of the band), an excellent vocalist, a fantastic guitarist, a beautiful lyricist and an outstanding composer. I hope that one day he is fully recognised as the musical genius that he is.

Having played both Baroque and Classical music, I have to say that Jari is just as good as the best composers of those eras. I find it interesting how differently he makes music compared to the composers of the past. Composers used to be hard pressed to push out as much music as possible for religious institutions, and as a result they created variations in which they reused the same music, but changed technical aspects. On the other hand, Jari's music feels 100% organic which gives it the feeling of being more inspired. Another interesting difference is that Jari and the rest of Wintersun do not bother with sheet music. I believe that this shows a massive understanding of music and makes it less mechanical. Once musicians have become ingrained into sheet music, I do not think there is any hope of regaining a certain inspiration to create one's own music. Another great composer that does not use music notation is Chrigel Glanzmann.

Chrigel Glanzmann is another music genius, I totally agree with you. But, just as Jari, he doesn't get the credit he truly deserves. I mean, not only is he able to create amazing melodies and all that, the way he writes his lyrics is incredible as well. Songs like Inis Mona, Home or Uxellodunom have such a profound meaning behind them. Maybe because of how well they portray the hardships the Celts had to go through having lived so many years under the yoke of the Romans.

I agree! But don't forget Tuomas Holopainen. He is as good or even better than Jari Mäenpää. Nightwish songs are so fucking amazing. My life will be complete if those two makes album together!

Great Reaction! Wintersun is from Finland and is one of the best epic melodic death metal bands in the world... The frontman Jari Maempaa is a genious and his composition are always epic, magnificent and carefully made... Now react to the song Wintersun - Sons of Winter and Stars (live at sonic pump studios).. you'll see how good they are playing live.. and of course you must react to the other three songs of the new album The Forest Seasons... Jari uploaded all the lyrics versions.. (Spring, Summer and Autumn).. As I said in another video every Wintersun's song has something to tell about Jari's life, dreams, emotions and nature.. That's the reason how good and emotional are this songs, is a travel to another dimension every time... Oh... BTW what he does is more impressive knowing he lost 25% of one of his lung because a tuberculosis he developed when he was on the military service in Finland...

Carlos Dávalos Petters Very cool and wow, impressive that he can sing that way after going through TB. I got to spend 10 days in Finland about 8 years for a choir thing...it was so amazing! I want to go back :).

Oh nice man! And yes! Wintersun is a band that always will give you goosebumps.. We are talking about amazing work here, pure damn genius! There are also a lot of helpful comments and information on the other reaction videos of this song and another Wintersun's song.. Can wait for your other reactions of this bands!

Nice reaction! Now react to other Wintersun stuff. Many really great and epic songs. I think his best and strongest lyrics are in the song Eternal Darkness (Autumn).
