Hielscher considered the twelve "heavenly messengers" (six male and six female), who were active in the world, to be the highest specialties of the only real God, to whom the rank of "gods" and "goddesses" was assigned. The 24 festivals in the annual festival cycle of his free church were dedicated to them.
