took my GRS bartop out of storage after my move a few months ago and my controllers weren't working. Watched this video, connected to my PC to check the USB controllers (which I didn't do the first time a few years ago, didn't even think of it), my 1st player had a plug in the wrong place on the Xin-Mo and my 2nd player was showing number 9 for my number 5 button...my OCD wouldn't allow it and I unplugged all the wires...this video helped me put it back together correctly. How I didn't do it right the first time I don't know. Thanks for the video...got the bartop up and running again :)

Deluxe 22" bartop kit Wiring tip for light up buttons The lights themselves have one small wire (+) and a thick wire (-)so I plugged them all in the same way so wiring was even easier. And the strip LEDS for the marquee also came with an extra barrel jack I used for the power supply to the buttons. Outside (-) inside (+) so everything is quick connect

The wiring for the Sanwa style joysticks has changed. I bought the LED kit from you guys and the Purple is the ground. Super frustrating figuring that out. So, for anyone with different colors from this video: Purple - ground, Yellow - up, Black - right, Red - down, Gray - left. That's how it was for mine, anyway.

@DJHicks
@DJHicks 5 жыл бұрын
@@eliani1326 I was having the same joystick problems in Windows as I was in RetroPie. I just troubleshot until I figured out which color wires were in the wrong place. Leave the wires on the encoder hooked up as they are and try switching the different wires from the joystick to the non-changing wires coming from the encoder. This was a real headache and I probably won't choose this route again. It would have been way easier to use a Happ style stick with Happ buttons instead of a combining Happ buttons with a Sanwa stick.
@haylees84
@haylees84 5 жыл бұрын
@@eliani1326 I disconnected all of the encoder wires as well as the connections I made for the Sanwa stick. I reconnected all of the harnesses back on to the encoder according to the diagram provided. I have a few questions, the diagram shows a few grounds, do I have to put grounds on all of the slots labeled ground or place 1 ground per player? On the diagram it is labeled VCC, what is VCC? There is also a slot for mode, do I need to hook up to that? Is the ground for the Sanwa stick placed on the encoder or can I attach on the daisy chain ground? Not sure if I understand purple wire being a ground wire. Are you talking about the purple wire that is part of the harness that plugs into the encoder? This has been super frustrating trying to figure this thing out. Ive been trying to contact Ryan, with no luck. I Have not been happy thus far with the lack of help. He really needs to do an updated wiring video with his newer products, instructions are definitely lacking.

I bought the 2 stick 20 button LED bundle and I’m building a custom cabinet. You mentioned in an earlier comment that the kit supports 22 buttons. Are the extra wires for two additional buttons included in the kit or do I need to buy some extra wires to add two more buttons? Thank you.

What do you do with the usb encoder when everything is hooked up? Do you screw it on the bottom of the cabinet or is there a housing of some sort you have to get? Bc I don't think you just let it hang in there not secured or is that what you do?

In regards to powering the LED buttons and joysticks - I found this AC Adapter at Fry's which seems to do the trick. www.frys.com/product/6303571?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG It has a molex connector that will work the MOLEX connector at the end point of the daisy-chain wire used to send power to the LED. In addition to that, it also has some small 2-pin female wire that directly connects with the LED power cable on the LED joysticks, so no need to strip and electrical tape to power your LED buttons!
