Wire spool table with epoxy resin & LED lights (Star Trek) theme. In this video I make my friend Paulie from the KZfaq channel Paulie's World a Star Trek themed wire spool pub table. At the end of the video I present the gift to him and then he grills for me !! I have listed some of the items I used if you are interested. I hope you enjoy my DIY video.
The gears were purchased from Beautyflier on Amazon
The star trek letters stencil came from CB Stencil on Amazon
The USS Enterprise stencil came from GetCraft UK on Etsy
The LED strip light came from Buychoices on Amazon
The table base came from Central Restaurant on Amazon
The table cover came from Nareoidilc on Amazon
The table top epoxy I used was purchased at a local Michaels
And lastly the LED pucks came from a local Home Depot.

Thanks brother! That was the first time I used epoxy clear coat. Obviously not professional but, it was fun to make for a Great friend. 👊🏼

Hi nice table! How much kg of epoxy did you use?

I used approx 8 ounces of Envirotex lite. 4 oz resin 4oz hardener mix.

Nice work!! I am just starting on making a cable spool chair. But was wondering what could be made with the boards in the middle of the spool? Any ideas??

Thank you.I had two ideas I thought about making with them, the first was a small bridge since they are curved but haven't tried it yet. The 2nd idea was a planter box after banding them back together.

Great stuff. How did you plug the center hole for epoxy?

I attached a piece of vinyl floor plank to a 1/2” plywood square and screwed it up underneath. The epoxy didn’t stick that much to it and I was able to unscrew it and peal it off after the epoxy dried. Thanks for Watching! ✊🏼

Thank you, glad you liked it. This was my 2nd time using epoxy. It was a lot of fun. The epoxy I used is made by Envirotex Lite. Its called POUR-ON w/High Gloss Finish. I bought it at Michael's. It is typically used as a top coat to bars tops and tables etc.

What size is this table top? How much did it cost for spool or did you find it free? I didn’t catch how you added those blue lights in the holes. You didn’t show that part or did i miss it?

@@miriamrios93 The table top epoxy was $36.00 at Michae'ls but I only payed $18.99 with a coupon. The wire spool is 36" round and was free for me as I am in the construction trade and can grab around the jobsite. The blue lights were the white LED's shining up from underneath thru blue tinted epoxy with glass marbles I put in while pouring. I am still fairly new to filming and editing my own videos so unfortunately I do miss something occasionally.

How did you get out all the staples?

Any staples that were sticking up, I pulled out with pliers and a block of wood so I didn’t mark the wheel up bad. If I couldn’t get them out I banged them in with my hammer flat so I could sand and not get caught up on them. The epoxy that was put on top was clear so you can see a couple of them but, I think it gives it character.
