You should see the female orangutan who drives a golf cart around the preserve (by herself mind you and better than most humans )… sometimes she even brings her buddy, a dog, along for the ride. Someone set her driving to The Sopranos music and it’s absolutely hilarious. Especially when she drives by the tiger cage and speeds up and gives the biggest FU smirk of all time. Her name is Rambo and they even got her a new electric vehicle that looked so cool. Their intelligence is amazing !

And it is a logical explanation too! The whole point of the virus was to reverse Alzheimer’s and the way it degrades every neural part of our body. So it probably has the ability to restore motor control and speech abilities, since they can be lost under the affects of the disease. So the idea of human-like animals without such degradation getting this boost and being able to walk better and be able to start talking isn’t too insane

I highly recommend it because they get many orphans and the contribution through “adoption” allows them to pay for the caregivers, the food, and the medical staff. Many of the orangutan also get released into protected areas after they are taught essential life skills. Good luck! I hope you find a great orangutan to adopt!

Yes, the trilogy may be slightly unrealistic in terms of communication, behaviour etc… however, in the trilogy they’ve had the R-12 drug! They won’t act exactly the same as real life apes. Ceaser grew up around humans and so picked up much of the behaviour and habits of those people, which he then passed on to his tribe of apes. Great video though! Good commentary. I'm looking for a palaeontologist talking about all the micro adaptations that were required to allow our last common ancestor with chimps / bonobos to develop into us. Not just brain size, but also brain organisation. The multitude of adaptations to make large scale sociality possible. Changes to the hyoid bone and bones of the inner ear to allow us to make human speech sounds and to hear them accurately...
