HOW MUCH FASTER IS THE XMAXX 8S WITH THE 6S MOTOR IN IT. 1200KV VS 1600KV

I’ve blown Xmaxx 8s motor & my hobby shop had a 6S motor. The 8S motor is a 1200 KV and the 6S motor is a 1600 KV I wanted to know the difference in the speed between the 6S motor & the 8s. I was blown away by the difference in the speed . My cush Drive Will be in Wednesday then I will install my optional spur gear which is a 46 tooth gear to see what kind of speeds I am getting .

I had to step down to 18/54 because my truck wasn't giving full power with 18/50 (stock v1 6s speedo) and on 6s 18/54, 8s tires, and 8s diffs, i clocked mine in at a respectable 26 mph. Not fast like yours and kevin talbot's but definitely quick.

Hahaha yeah im glad you stuck a 1600kv motor in it............ now you know what im talking about 😂 my xmaxx hits 50mph bang on with 18/54 gearing and ive got a 26 tooth pinion and 46 spur gear just haven't tried it yet!! Lol

The Train I hope you get that body soon. I would hate to just look at my truck and not be able to run it for the first time 😆 hang on to that snap on body it might be worth something more later.

It’s a body, if you can get some idiot to give you 500 for it sell it, proline will be making more body’s for xmaxx it’s only a matter of time

That optional spur gear sucks my first one blew up soon as I hit the throttle and my second one blew apart after two speed passes up and down the road with easy throttle on start up. Luckily Traxxas sent me the second one free cause I didnt get to use it but still sucks it went out so fast

are you using 6s motor 1600kv with 8s batteries? woudnt that blow up the motor?

8s motor is faster then 6s motor. I'm confused ?

When Traxxas first came out with the X Maxx it was a 6S version with a 1600 KV motor. Then they came out with the 8S version which had a 1200 KV motor. the more KV the more RPMs /speed! The lower the KV more power so the 8S version is more powerful but slower nothing the naked eye can pick up.

Are you using the pin system with the higher gearing? Thanks! I recently was trying out 19/50t gearing, installed bigger tires and installed the HR motor mount. Ran my xmaxx for too long and didn't notice that my motor fans were not working. Motor overheated and burned. Between all those things, I'm not sure which one did it. I'm doing the manual gear mesh setting. That's why I asked about the pin system. I bought it the 1600kv 6s motor thinking it was the stock motor for my xmaxx 8s, but that will work too. I'm just worried about heat but I have a temp gun, which I didn't bother to use!

Rc enthusiast. You should have no heat problems I’ve been running my 1600 KV motor with 8S for over two years now. I am running stock gearing 18/54 I believe

@@WiredRC I went with 18/50t gearing and bigger tires with the 6s motor this time. Those hardened steel gears from HR sure sound horrible. I brought it to the hobby shop to double check gear mesh and noise and he told me that it's normal (noise and mesh). I replaced my xmaxx hub bearings and found one that was COMPLETELY SEIZED UP, so I think that's what fried my motor. New bearings and fans installed. Time for a second try today. I have my temperature gun ready too. Live and learn 👍🔫

@@WiredRC Really? I've got it all sorted out now, but I'm still hitting thermal at around 10-15 minutes. I might just go back to 18/54 gearing so that it's not overheating all the time. It's been crazy hot here in Texas lately.

@@WiredRC Blew my 6s motor too running on grass. I reduced the gearing to 15/50 and it still blew. Going to replace the bearings again (I was running it in muddy grassy conditions) and will probably remove the HR motor mount and will return to the stock gearing, motor mount and pin system. 🤔

The super rock Rey does 49-51mph stock on 8s with its 750kv motor. The x maxx is still a better rc

I've seen 3 super rock reys do between 55-60 stock(including mine I bought 3 months ago).....I believe the first ones were doing the speed you saw because they had 12 or 14 teeth pinion gears in the beginning(at least that's what a guy that was testing them on KZfaq said-mine came with an 16 teeth pinion, so I'm figuring they upped the teeth after realizing they weren't doing as advertised with the first gear configuration)

The x maxx may be better for stunting, but the SRR will murder it as far as torque, speed, and dirt racing.

Jerred rockwell I thought nobody would ever ask 😂. The version one xmaxx has a higher KV motor 1600, which in return is a higher revolutions per minute motor. Version two has a 1200 KV motor which loses speed but gains power. So if you buy the 8S version you will have a fast truck but if you have the 6S version which comes with the 1600 KV motor and by the power up kit it will be a few miles an hour faster. I hope this is not confusing you. The 6S motor is only faster when you upgrade your ESC to a 8s ESC

Wired RC sweet ok because i been dying to get an 8s, i have a 6s now and i have the 18-50 setup on it. Im getting 44mph out of it now running maxamps 9000mah 100c lipos. I always thought the lower the kv the stronger/faster the motor. So if i go with a max5 esc would be faster/better then going with stock 8s?

I was confused by this when upgrading and ended up buying a 540 kv motor and couldn't even get good speeds until I put a 50 tooth pinion but no room to go up anymore to do wheelies so bought a 800kv dbxl e motor and now with 40 tooth pinion getting 75kmph

It in thoery should have a higher top speed using the same gearing and batts but it will not be as fast off the start as the 1200 . Im running 8s 20/46 on the 1200 i cant see the 1600 really being noticeable

@@ksrnate dji mavic is truly boring. it flies about 50-70 km/h max in ''sportmode''. racedrones are up to 5 times faster. i have one which goes 254 . even the 150 of my first qwad blew my mind...got addicted immediately. its like you sit in there with VRgoggles. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/frhhqciqp7PDZ5s.html
