Just FYI. Your car does have USB 3, as indicated by the blue strip of plastic in the ports. It just has Type A not Type C

Mine is poor, rarely connects to my Ftype and when it does the music sounds awful

Any tech for the Ftype is a good thing. After selling a fully loaded XF for an Ftype without Android Auto (8"std head), I'm left thinking after visiting their Ottocast site, this unit only relays data from phone to head unit to do away with phone leads, and still won't enable A/Auto unless I get a 10" screen upgrade running A/Auto. So this unit is only for already Android Auto or AppleCarplay heads. Let me know. Cheers
