In this tutorial I show you how to make your own brooch pin with wire. Please feel free to give it a go yourself and I hope you enjoy.

Thank you so much. You are always so very helpful. One of my overseas friends loved my Polymer Clay Celtic Knot and I can't get a pin here in Australia. Just happened to have some 18 gage copper wire and followed your instruction. I still have to work to make it perfect like yours. But, what a revelation!

Great video thanks, I made a few after watching this. But the spring doesnt really spring much does it? You kind of just move the wire under the hook. It doesnt spring up when you open it. Is there a way to fix this? Im not sure I explained sufficiently.

mine does not seem to go through fabric how do l make it sharp enough

We are always told to make sure we cut the ends of our wires flat with the proper side of our cutters. Well, here, I think it's different. We need to intentionally cut the very end of the wire (the end that will go through the fabric) at an angle, so it's more pointed, then file down any rough spots. You might have to make a couple of angled cuts here. You could practice getting a better point on a piece of scrap wire first so you don't end up cutting and cutting your wire until it's too small. It should only take a few snips at the end. Good luck!
